'Merge' Article- Lucas in his own words

I think he means that Anakin's story is the central theme, and that Luke is part of that story. Lucas sees Luke as merely a step in redeeming his father. I really don't think he thinks the OT is about Luke, that would be silly to pretend, as it's not.

Check out the SE VHS cases from 1997, it doesn't say Episode IV: A New Hope, it just says Star Wars as the original movie. He didn't start putting Epsiode #'s to sell the movie until the PT, before it was Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Now everything is Star Wars this, Star Wars that, except they forgot the original movie was called Star Wars.

Hold on a second. The film's title was officially changed on the opening crawl in 1981. PLUS, ESB and ROTJ were only advertised with their subtitles, they ALWAYS had their episode number in the opening crawl.

Which would make it all the funnier! Makes you think, "Oh Han! Will you ever learn?" Of course, it has to come back and hit him in the ass and make him shoot up like a rocket, with a big "YEEOOW!"

Yeah! And its not repetitive... its continuity of character! I'd also change the 'I Love You' scene in ESB just before Han is frozen- I mean GL didn't even write the 'I know.." line- just who the Hell does Harrison Frod think he is for ad-libbing that crap?!?! He has ruined the master's works. Instead in the newly *corrected* scene Han should reply "I love you more." Then Leia says "No... *teehee*... I love YOU more." This goes on for a few lines until we get a close-up of Vader turning his head to the side and looking down slightly as he seems to remember the exchange.

See- continuity!

Guys, I just had another idea for when it comes time to do ROTJ. Instead of having it end on Han, Luke, Leai and the gand, have it end on the force ghosts of Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda. A much more fitting conclusion, if you ask me. It would be symbolic of the propecy being fulfilled and would even better enforce that Anakin is the true star of the star wars saga.

So, what would happen if he did release the OOT on DVD?
Time
I agree with you on the SE of the original Terminator. I don't think people would get too upset with a SE of it, since the original has already been released on DVD. A lot of the effects look very dated (although this may be looked at as a good quality.) But, compared to Terminator 2 (one of my favorite films), it looks very cheasy as it is.

And, of course, we also need Blade Runner on Blu-Ray, as soon as someone "retires" Jerry Perenchio.
