Things that you have always wondered about...

Oh man, the discussions I've had on that line at the IMDb!

But, I think that line was inseted just so we could relate to what he means. The people in that galaxy apparently believe that all people become opne with the force at death, except for Dark Side users, who simply cease to exist (except for Palpatine, who's spirit was basically sent into a place of eternal torture in Dark Empire). Hmm, maybe Han was referring to something like thT about the force?

And in our reality, the concept of hell seems to be similar, as in it is some sort of non-physical place.

That is true, imagine a book or seris of books with everyones views of each film, book game and other media, the possibilities are endless, I guess we'll just have to see what 2007 brings, I personally cannot wait, you haooen to know what time of year itll be out in the uk?

Yeah, I do blieve that something that is very likely. It would be a PERFECT way to celebrate this "final" edition of the saga, where, at least to me, the saga finally will be complete. Having Lucas or Lucas and others write a grand book on their experiences would be an excellent companion piece to the archival box set (AWK has a fan-gasm at this point).

How do we even know there is a so called "archival edition". Has it even been confirmed?!

Has Lucas even commented that we will se "a LOT of merchendise tie-ins, without a doubt"

!?!?!

Have you got any proof to back this up or are we supposed to actually believe it?!

No, I don't have any proof. I'm just going by what I think will happen. You should know by now that very little information presented by anyone on the internet is ever 100% reliable. I'm just having fun kev.

Who's that directed at?

Theres more then likeley going to be a 1 - 6 box set, ive never heard of it being called the archivel relase but thats not the point, its going to happen, if it happens next year or in ten years its inevitable, ten years after its released theyll probly bring out an anniversary edition, its how these people make money

I agree. They do this with every series when it comes to a close. For example, Peter Jackson released a box set of the LOTR trilogy, and then not long after, he released a special edition box set of them all.

Yeah, the 2007 "archival" release will bring a LOT of merchendise tie-ins, without a doubt. I know that the 1998 SW encyclopedia was written by Steve Sansweet, so I suspect that he will do the 2007 one, since he's the expert on the Star Wars saga in its entirety. Although Nathan Butler wouldn't be a bad choice either.

What I think would be interesting is if George Lucas himself wrote some sort of book detailing his views of each film and his personal thoughts and experinces on the saga. Man, no matter what opinion you have of him, you've gotta admit that that would be AWESOME!

favorite songs

Hmm, I'm not sure if I could pick my favorite songs specifically. But I can tell you that I mostly listen to soft rock (like The Beatles, U2, Green Day, Coldplay, etc.) and classical.

I also like a lot of early stuff from the 90's, like Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, and Nirvana.

And of course Star Wars music...

Lucas has made multiple references to Droids in the PT

Like what?
I'm really not sure about that. Just see the end of ROTS, where droids seem to be new "members" of the Tantive IV. The reference books had to explain the "hole" between ROTS and ANH, where, in the series, the droids have no masters...

"Lucas making references to the EU", that line sounds really uncredible, IMO (even if he has, for some little details)...

Here are the references, straight from Wookieepedia:

- In the fourth episode of the series 'A Race to the Finish', the Droids end up at a race known as the "Boonta Race." A similar name was used for the podrace in 'Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace', which was known as the "Boonta Eve Classic".

- The swamp planet of Bogden is a planet visited by the droids in the series. In 'Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones', Jango Fett says that he was "hired by a man called Tyranus on the moons of Bogden."

- As confirmed by StarWars.com, the wheel bike, which was Jann Tosh's vehicle as seen in the animated series, was also the type of vehicle that was the vehicle of choice for General Grievous in 'Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith', when in a chase with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Utapau.

- The diner in an episode of the series has a strong similarity to Dex's Diner as seen in 'Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones'.

- Toong from the series was given as the home planet for a species in the prequels.

- In the episode, 'The Pirates of Tarnoonga', the pirate caves on Tarnoonga bear a striking resemblance to the sinkhole grottos of Utapau as seen in 'Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith'.

Understanding the saga - A perspective from T.F.N

I think the OT is infinitely better than the PT, because Lucas knew what Star Wars was all about when the OT was made. The OT was about fulfilling his duty as a storyteller, to reframe the myths and legends that mankind has been telling since the dawn of history as a heroic science fantasy. He was the finest student of Joseph Campbell in his hey-day, but I have to say he has lost his way from *at least* '97 onwards. Campbell would be disappointed in Lucas if he was around to see the PT, because the PT only shares surface references to iconic myths and legends. For instance 'Padme' means 'lotus' in ancient Chinese - there was a saying that 'the jewel is in the lotus' - meaning (to simplify it) that "the truth is in the world". In the OT, Lucas would have sought to illustrate the ideal of the proverb itself rather than simply naming a character after a word in the proverb, and then having her hold a massive glowing jewel at the end of TPM, not to illuminate any meaning whatsoever, but to carbon-copy 'manifest' a proverb in a bunch of on-screen actions...don't know if any of that made sense to you guys, but basically, Lucas couldn't see the forest from the trees. He was too busy drawing pretty little trees instead of looking at the whole forest of myth and legend and manifesting it in a new trilogy of sci-fi stories...

Oh, and I'm 21 and my opinion counts.

But see, that's the point. Even in the early 80's, Lucas warned people that the PT would be quite different from what you would expect. The new trilogy would not resemble the other.

So... comparing the two based on the OT just doesn't work. The two trilogy are not meant to be compared, with one being judged against another. They're simply two parts of an overall story that he chose to create in two totally different ways. The OT was designed to be based on mythology.

The PT basically tells you where all those mythic guys came from.

Then you're saying that you believe that age does matter then.

I'm sure you wouldn't have said that in ancient/biblical times. I mean, you would have 30 year old men dating 13 year olds. And even Mary, the mother of Christ, was supposedly 13 or so when she dated Joseph.

Yes, you're 17 years old and we're supposed to take your opinion seriously.

That's not really a fair generalization, because I'm 17 too and my opinions and Adam's are completely different (not just on Star Wars-related issues, either). So just remember, not all teenagers are teenyboppers.

That's correct. And you're probabaly implying that I'm one. But the problem with that belief is that I'm not.

Look, sean, don't worry about it. Just be yourself. That is all you can ever hope to be. After all, if you try to be someone else, then, in the end, yourself won't be who she'll be falling in love with, will it? And if you be yourself? Maybe she'll like you, maybe she won't. But in the end you'll be better off presenting who you are, not who you want to be.

It has happened so many times, and all of them ended the same way. What is the point anyway... Why do we keep being pushed towards inevitable pain and suffering? Should just give up the whole damn thing...

Because we as humans seem to be made to suffer. It's our lot in life.
