Oh, come on! It's very easy to understand, and very explicit...
It's wonderful how the fans can yell against the "too-many-infos-that-ruin-the-mystery", and yell as well when some things are just suggested...
I agree with Adam, if Lucas would have shown Qui-Gon, it's sure that many fans would have critisized it...
Sometimes, I think that it must be hard to be George Lucas, with many fans yelling for every thing he puts in the SW universe...

That's one of the reasons I defend the PT. When he was asked in the early 90's why on earth he was starting the PT with Anakoin as a nine year old, he replied that he was telling the story that he intended to tell. Not the fans' story, or Spielberg's story, or anyone's story but his. From what I can tell, he did what he thought was best for the story. Now, he has said himself that you cannot please everyone because Star Wars fans, and sci-fi fans in general are "very independent minded people who have a very clear idea of what they want to see."

TV Shows on DVD
Time
I'm mad... very mad. I know - I mean I know for a fact, that when The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles are released on DVD, they will be those 22 re-edited films. Now, keep in mind, I don't have a problem with the film edited versions. I have several of them on tape, and thoroughly enjoy them, but I want old Indy back, dammit! I much prefer the episodic format, as it gives it more of a serial-type feal like Lucas was shooting for with Indy in the first place. Now, I understand his reasoning for editing them into films, but I know for a fact that it wasn't his "original vision" in this case. If it was his original vision, he would have made them that way in the first place. He can't blame this on technology, this is simply him changing his mind.

So, I wanted to make note here a group of Indy fans over at theraider.net have got together and are planning a preservation project for the original, unedited episodes of the series. They even list OT.com as part inspiration for the project! They are doing this on the presumption (based on Lucas's track record) that he will not trelease the unedited episodes.

I am behind them all the way on this.

Adam, if it was a 2001 reference, I missed it too. New comics are shipped every Wednesday, so that's when I go to the shop.

Well, a famous line in 2001 is when Frank speaks to his parents. After they wish him happy birthday, they say "See you next Wednesday." And in every film of John Landis, he includes either that line spoken, or something reading "See you next Wednesday," as sort of a reference to 2001.

Why do you want to know?

I think that's probably why she doesn't want to send you the photos, buddy.

Oh. Well, if you really want to know, I'll tell you: I was planning to look at them.
