Honestly, I wish there was a definitive fromat, a final, best quality one. Of course there will always be bigger (or smaller) and better ones, but theres hd-dvd, or hopefully blu-ray coming out next year to replace dvd. It just keeps going and going! Oh yeah, that brings up another discussion, for another thread. HD-DVD or Blu-ray? Pefect for this site.

Well, not exactly. The image when I do this seems more expanded. Nothing is cut, I HATE pan and scan. It's more or less spread out, I believe. Either that, or shot in that ratio, I'm not sure.

Yeah, probably. I thought the same thing at first. I guess it is the black bars that make regular shows feel similar to movies at times.

Yes and no. I want black bars on the top and bottom, that is, when you watch the film on a regular TV. I don't know, there is just something about the look of that that I like. I don't want them on the sides, though.

Well, in my situation, I'm not trying to crop the image. I'm just trying to display what I suspect is a partial widescreen image, like the guy above was describing. I'm just curious to see if the holiday special was actually filmed this way, or, more likely, was not.

They want to delete anything that they believe is, ahem, "fanboyish." They seem to have their own twisted idea of what wikipedia is and isn't. I'll make sure the dedication thing stays up/ And, uh, oops, thought the site started in 2004. Guess I wasn't paying attention. Anyway. You can almost guarantee a notice will be up on the page soon calling it a candidate for deletion. Then we'll all have to vote anf fight for it. They are just anti-star wars fans, it seems.

You all don't seem to understand, this isn't 3D in the regular sense we are talking about here, Lucas himself even said that, this is one that makes the scenery and characters look more realistic. That's the best way to describe it.
