Good. I'm glad to hear an honest reason why someone hates it. When I go to TFN with this, people start flaming and giving very dumb excuses like I explained above. I can respect someone for hating something, only if they have a very good reason why. And Mr. Bungle, you actually have a reason why not just some lame TFN excuse like "Anakin is such a weak, whiny bitch," or "Luca$ wants our money and doesn't care about quality," or some stupid remark like that.

Star Wait - documentary

I sort of liked it. It's a kooky little slice of Star Wars mania we otherwise wouldn't see had it not been preserved. (I wish someone had made a documentary about the tenth anniversary SW con!) There was plenty of total ignorance elsewhere, especially in the media, about why they were camped out in line for so long, even more so for Episode III. I'm not sure what Lucasfilm will think of Target piggybacking this thing on the Episode III DVD release though. You just know some irate parent is going to miss the profanity warning on the label.
Those TFN guys may boast about trashing the DVD, but they're still out five bucks, aren't they?

As for those guys at TFN, TheCassidy once said something like "They set in their Yoda underoos, not seeing the irony."

AWK, I had no idea you took such an interest in Canadian politics. Personally, I don't think a Christmas election (or January election, whcich would mean campaigning over Christmas) would work in anyone's favour. I think the Conservatives want to campaign through Christmas about as much as we want them to be campaigning through Christmas. So help me, God, if Jim Pankiw comes to my door campaigning Christmas morn, I will shoot him. I am not a violent man, but I will shoot him.

Not specifically Canadian politics, but politics in general.

Being that TPM was the first Star Wars movie you ever saw, by your own account, you simply don't, won't and can't understand.

Of course I can't. In this case, I see the whole picture. Seeing TPM then ANH made me accept all six as one story, rather than looking at them from an OT purist point of view. I guess you could say seeing TPM and then ANH forced me to accept it all. No, I'll probably never understand your point of view, because when I saw TPM, star wars was all new to me, just as you'll never see mine because when you saw ANH, star wars was new to you. The thing was, I saw I, IV, V, VI in a short amont of time, while you saw IV,V,VI, and had to wait 20 years for I, which involved building up incredible expectations like reading the thrawn trilogy and wanting to see Vader in the suit running around killing jedi for the entire PT, whuile that would lack a decent story, which is exactly what the OT has. Ironic.

TPM is not a bad movie. The expectations were too high. Too many read the thrawn trilogy, and got all excited about all the clone wars stuff. TPM is a setup for later events; the introductory chapter, part of a larger movie. Why does everyone continually judge it against other things? It's like when you watch a movie, and don't like a few parts of it.

Yeah, he holds all of the rights, they were transferred from 20th Century Fox in 89'. I too would love a remastered holiday special. In fact, I would love it it was simply released on DVD in the first place. I don't know, maybe in 2007 for the ANH 30th anniversery. SKot is certainly pushing them to do it. He says "some how, someday, it will come out." So, you never know...
