posted at starwars.com As a person who is 43 years old, I find it hiliarious how some of you think a person cannot look reasonably the same as they did at 45 as they did in their 20's. Look at Sean Penn, Doug Flutie, Madonna, Bon Jovi, etc. A lot of people who stay in good shape really don't change looks in that time, maybe a few wrinkles. My husband is 44 and looks exactly as he did 20 years ago except a few wrinkles, but you have to look real close. His hair is still the same, long, not thin, not grey, never dyed. Anakin as a Jedi in good shape could very likely have been like those stars I mentioned and not aged much had he not been burned. We don't see his face clearly enough to know if he has wrinkles or not, you can pretend he does and he is 'old' if it makes you happy !

But no, a fat 78 year old man is not a better representation of what his true self would have been. He was put there before the PT when we knew Vader turned young.

He does not fit anymore, now that we've 'met' and seen the real Anakin, it's actually a blooper, an anachronism, to have him there.

And also, Lucas has already explained that the reason for the change was that it was Anakin's inner self that he used to be that turned to the light, not the burned, scarred DV persona. And it's his story, so that's what is canon.

Also, who wants to go through the afterlife looking like Shaw when you could look like Hayden for eternity?

MY OPINION EXACTLY! To be completely honest, Shaw was horrible as Anakin, and Hayden brings more closure to the saga! It's much, more fitting to have Hayden, IMHO.

Actually, in "archival," I was referring to an archival edition of Lucas' definitive versions of all six films, which I'm VERY excited about. This edition would include allm minor tweaks, major changes, and such to make it his vision. It's almost a given he will make more changes and the 2007 bersion will be the final version. No, I doubt he has the intention to ever release the OOT on DVD. They're merely early drafts in his eyes.

ya me too i can't wait, and their proof. Not form Lucas cuz he would never admit it but these list exscaped from LFL about 3 years ago adn some of the changes have alreaddy happen'd ie, emperor, and jedi ghosts changes. And yode in TPM being turned to CGI. Even some actors have talked about it such as the guys who playes Leah's adoted fother and John williams has even talked about them

Was that the list that appeared all over the net a while back?!? I certainly hope so. Those were some cool ideas! Do you know if those were seriously officially leaked?

Return of the Jedi + Revenge of the Sith = one amazing movie!

I think that, if only Lucas would remove Luke saying immediately after Leia's recollections "I have no memory of my mother. I never knew her," then the scene would make sense, becuase you don't know whether Luke does, or not, but you assume he does. Hopefully, he will see the plot hole, and remove that line. However, with the scene in, here's my explanation:

Luke has more of a force connection to his father, Leia to her mother. Notice he can sense Vader always in the OT, but she can't.

How about Lucas moves on and makes other films?

Amen!

And changing the stormtroopers' voices? Yeah, it's just stupid. It's been an entire generation since the Clone Wars, anyway! I'd be surprised if any of those clones were still in service by that time! At least as ground troops, anyway... We've seen in Revenge of the Sith that even the clones can get promoted through the ranks of the military, so if any are still active, they'd probably have more tactical positions rather than doing the footwork. They'd need younger men for that.

In the words of some useless character whose name escapes me: "I'm getting too old for this sort of thing."

You can't forget, though, that Vader is close with Boba, and has the option of cloning him to keep the clones like Jango.
