He never lost it.

hey george, i mean, adam, can you please release those DVD's soon?

Sorry, but I believe in an artist's rights. I released the original versions on laserdisc and VHS a few years back. The DVDs out now are the films the way I wanted them to be.

Adam....you haven't seen the entire OOT and yet you come here and sprout all your bullshit.

I say you are a troll. A troll who dances on the edge, pissing people off without flaming or breaking any forum rules. You know exactly what you are doing.

I say you ought to be banned.

WTF?!? You get angry because I haven't seen the OOT? So what? I'm a huge SW fan, that's what matters. That's ALL that matters. I like the SW saga. I'm a huge fan of the PT and OT, and that should be enough info. If I haven't seen the OOT, then that shouldn't concern anyone. Don't go labeling me as something like that, just because I differ.

The thing is, that didn't necessarily happen directly after the DSII was destoroyed. It is never specifically said when those scenes of celebration occur. But, yeah, the SW galaxy does have the HoloNet.

Yeah, there are things that stick out painfully now when I watch the saga I-VI, I must admit. Particularly the Leia remembering her mother scene, Luke's feeling in ESB that Dagobah is like "something out of a dream," and the difference between the look and actions of Palpatine between the updated ESB scene and in ROTJ. Those scenes always seemed like they were referencing something big in the prequels, but turned out to be vague, mysterious, unanswered questions that don't have an acceptable answer, now that the prequel trilogy has come along. Damn. I'm being completely honest here. Wow.

Yeah, I mean, I can understand the great attatchment to the original versions, since those versions are usually from the best parts of their childhoods. I would feel the same way if, after 20 years, someone changed a film a loved so much around, and then said the story was not focused on who I thought it was. But, I think we all take it all a little too seriously at times. I myself often forget that it all is just fictional. It is such a fun, inspiring story, that we all wish parts of it were true.

I don't get these people who completely despise the prequels or the EU. I mean, they may not be the greatest films in the history of cinema, or the greatest stories in the world, and they may not hold up to the standards of the original films, but they are stories, which Lucas and company made with completely good intentions. They were made for a wide audience, in order for people of all ages to take away what they wanted from it. It's all meant to be enjoyed. Myself, I read the EU, watch the prequels, the original films, and I enjoy the stories. I may not like some stories, but I don't completely dismiss them as "horrible" or say that the artist needs to be redeemed or the artists has lost his/her touch. I like to watch/read the SW stories, and have fun, which is all I think anyone can ever expect.

OK, fine.

In a nutshell, TPM is to me, what ANH was to the 70's generation, or was to the group of people who saw ANH before any other SW film. It will always hold a special place in my childhood, becuase, just as ANH did to many, it introduced me to that galaxy far far away. TPM led to what has so far been a six year obsession. After seeing TPM, I was eager to find out the rest of the story. So I watched ANH, ESB, and ROTJ immediately after I left the theater in 99', and loved them. I then eagerly awaited AOTC and ROTS, and loved them as well. I enjoy all of star wars, no matter the quality of storytelling, or who it is telling the story. I watch the films, I read EU, and I enjoy the overall story for what it is. I like the fantasy genre period.

Well, Lucas explained that The Emperor wanted Luke to kill Vader and become his apprentice, and Vader wanted Luke to kill the Emperor and Luke become Vader's apprentice. So, yeah, it all still works the same.

Plus, this would help explain why Vader knows who Luke is at the beginning of ESB, but acts like he's shocked when Palps announces it to him.

Well, then, why is it the problem of the original model that it doesn't match the one from ROTS? And I don't have my DVD with me, but I really didn't see that much of a difference between the two except maybe a slightly different paint job. I'm not trying to fight, I just never really noticed anything horribly different.

Like you said, the paint job is different. Well, I gues that could be explained because of the 20 year gap.
