Are Sebastian Shaw & Clive Revill still alive?
Time
Well, with Lucas's ILM employees, I'm sure he payed them plenty for their hard work. Plus, he's acknowledged their work in the past. Now, I'm trying to sound like a smartass, but, I believe he just feels that he has the right to move on, and finish what he began. Those employees may or may not like his changes, we'll never know. When you hear them, they sound like they do but, of course, you can never tell for sure. I suppose he feels that they have served their time in the films, and now he can replace them. After all, he DID already release the originals, so both versions are available. Maybe not on DVD, but technically, he did release them. I think that's how he looks at it. You've heard his quote where he says if fans want the original versions they can go buy the laser discs? Well, that shows his opinion.

Fondest Memory from the OT Days
Time
Since I wasn't around in the original trilogy days, I shall recall my greatest Star Wars memory generally. After seeing TPM, ANH, ESB, and ROTJ in 99', I eagerly waited the three years for AOTC to come out. I kept up with TF.N all that time and always tried to find the latest spy reports (that is, when TF.N actually used to HAVE spy reports). And of course finally the day arrived and I remember May 16, 2002 as one of my happiest days. Even when ROTS came out this year, it wasn't as fond of an experience to see for some reason. AOTC for me was an exhilerating experience. And yes, I cried when I got home from it, as much as it may astonish. I then went to see it five more times over the next few weeks. Ahh, those were the days!

Silly Pics
Time
Warning. The pic in the link below is not work safe. Out of respect for this thread, and for star wars, I will not post it here, but it can be seen directly by clicking on the link below. This pic, which was obtained at the TF.N thread entitled "Luke, Mara, and Sex in the EU," may make you vomit and have BAD, BAAAAAD nightmares. Click at your own risk:

But you know, as well as I, that there HAS to be more to it than that. Characters don't simply cease to exist before, after, and between each film, therefore the EU is allowable.

Of course. That school of thought has led to FANTASTIC cinematic moments. I'm thinking:

Scarlett
Return to Oz
Caddyshack II
The Return of Jafar
More American Graffiti
Speed 2: Cruise Control
The Color of Money
Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2
EDIT: Grease 2 ... don't forget that crapfest either

I'm specifically leaving out franchise-killers like Batman & Robin or Rocky V and focusing on "blood-from-a-stone" first sequels that never should have happened. Any more dead horses we can beat?

I can't wait for that sequel "The Passion of the Christ: God's Vengeance." Throw in a resurrected Judas in a robot suit doing space battle with his old nemesis The Nazarene and it'll outgross the original.

Yeah, you do have a point. How about "Passion of the Christ II: The Return of Jesus."
