Request: a 'Serenity' movie fan edit? - ADM??
Time
That's what I love most. I relish tweaking GL's horrendous special editions to no end. Like shooting fish in a barrel. Sure I've done a bunch of other films, but Star Wars was the catalyst.

Meanwhile, all I really want is an untweaked O-OT so I can always go back to the real thing. The genuine canon. The films that changed Hollywood forever. May X0 come to us all soon.

HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE

Yes. I was using hyperbole there. Compared to the kind of character development they were given in the book, coupled with the massive amount of marketing behind these characters for the movie, their actual screen-time and contributions to the screenplay were extremely disappointing.

The entire "discovery" of Barty Crouch's death centered around Krum and he was cut right out. That scene provided such an insight into him, Karkaroff, Durmstrang, the Dark Arts, and his feelings for Hermione as the one bright light in his life.

Ham-handed. That's the best word to describe the cuts in his character.

Episode 3: Fan Editing Ideas Discussion

Agreed. It's all about the person who wields the weapon, not the weapon itself. After all, lightsabers don't kill Jedi; Jedi kill Jedi. Wait a minute ...

If Darth Vader had been played by Charleton Heston in ROTJ (as somebody suggested in another thread) we'd probably hear him say this: "Here is my credo: A lightsaber in the hands of a bad Jedi is a good thing. A lightsaber in the hands of a good Jedi is no threat to anybody ... except bad robots."

Indiana Jones 4

The only plausible plotline for BTTF4 would be for Marty to travel into the future to a time when Parkinson's is cured. Michael J. Fox hasn't been seen much publicly for a reason: the guy is suffering. As far as rumors go, this is a bad one, probably resulting from some line dropped by an idiot first-year marketing exec at Universal in a brainstorming session. Milk that udder till it's dry and then lick off the drops.

First off, thanks for the kind words. I have fun doing this stuff.

I'm not very familiar with the Firefly/Serenity universe so I probably wouldn't do it justice. I'm actually encouraging others to take up the editing hobby on films they care about. Check out this thread for a detailed how-to guide on making your own fan edit. That's the sure-fire way to get it the way you'd like to see it. It's challenging, but fun. And it certainly isn't rocket science. More like a Rubik's cube.

If you turned it off before the chick fight between Patricia Velasquez and Rachel Weisz, you returned it too soon. Any moment beyond that was certainly too long to watch though. Hey cool: Both their names end in "z." That may be the most interesting plot development in the film.

Aside from Manos (an easy target) all of these new films keep getting listed. What about some atrocious films older than some of you neophytes? Films by Ed Wood do not count. How about some real bona fide time wasters:

Mario Bros.
Lock Up
Howard the Duck (sorry, but it's true)
Dirty Dancing
Staying Alive
Flashdance (refer to those last three as a 'trifecta')

Damn skippy. We got in free, but I still wanted my money back. I really only stuck around so I could write a scathing review the next week. I remember saying something about a "droopy-feathered sequel."

I recall your review being far nicer than what I'd have written. You showed some restraint that I wouldn't have. I just remember how MUCH I talked up that movie before it came out, dragging everybody out to see it, and then actually walking out on it leaving you guys sitting there. I came back in for the finale though. But ick!
