Actually ABC, those same words mean the same thing in several different languages, not just French. Even English uses "Peepee", we just spell it different.

Ah. And so the other one I guess (don't reply please it doesn't worth)...

... Then I really must look "on topic".

That's all.

Star Wars 1977 70mm sound mix recreation [stereo and 5.1 versions now available] (Released)

This info really confuses me, I always thought the 35mm Dolby mix was done first but the 70mm prints with the six-track was sent out and heard by the public first. Can someone please explain this?

I think there are many options:

Perhaps these guys don't really remember

Perhaps they have all a different version of the story, depending on their role in it, and "re-edit" the truth each one his way :)

Perhaps it is too complex to explain in an interview or they want to present the best story for anyone thinks they had so much pressure that they've done lot of mess

ect... ect...

Then I' be more inclined to believe the first version you quoted. The consideration I personnaly have for Ben Burtt (notably the importance he likes to show about his work as I see him) reenforce that point.

KAKAPEEPEE !!!

This only sounds vaguely familiar.

Oh yeah...

at one time there was actually a "kakapeepee" thread on here.

Actually the phonetic is mostly familiar for french ears, and I think it comes from there: pipi & caca are the french for pee & poo-poo.

But these two words are mostly used by children, or by persons speaking in a way that they don't want to shock anyone.

It is also used as an expression: "des blagues pipi-caca", "des histoires pipi-caca" ("pipi-caca jokes", or "pipi-caca stories").

So the image just above is totally related. Psycho man has surely not launched the word by accident, if I dare say...

That's all.

Not completely true. My Rogues are standing by to knock out the mission objectives they were assigned from Admiral Adywan. =D

... Ah, at last a clue. (Adywan prefers talking of his kitchen..., he !)

Be sure those people have all our consideration. The one(s) who have the keys in hand to give them the possibility to be at the top, and who actually don't do it... That's what is amazing.

ESB is great.

as a sort of "this is where the real work got done."

Yeah, he is doing a better job and people are gutting his place. George has a big ranch with pools and restaurants. Ady has to do his edit with a gutted kitchen.

Sometimes (actually I think most of the time) cheap equipment or facilities make you go beyond your own limits, or what is thought reasonably possible. If you only knew from what piece of junk came the jewel you heard last day, not mentionning my current project... It's the Milenium Falcon ! (She also was able to make 3D at a time, but now she's a little tired. No light speed!).

So yes, I think it's the best way to learn.

:) Classic promo picture! I knew you would love it, if not on the cover, maybe you could place it on the page in the booklet where the "Asteroid Field" track is.

Too late... as you can see in the very first pictures I posted. No way that I change it. But I'll find something, don't worry ;)

Adywan,

As I said earlier I didn't follow the thread until a few pages back, so I guess most people here know what is going on. I've just considered the OP post closely what leaded me to one simple question...

... Are you an army to complete this project ???

(And I'll understand if you don't have time to answer).

What I find interesting is his assertion of its superiority over the SE in quality terms.  That the '97 soundtrack is significantly less dynamic is obvious from even a casual comparison with the DC mix--but he also says the image of the SE was much softer than what he saw.

Yeah, that's really interesting when he wonders if it's voluntary done...

I wonder myself if showing the superiority of such an "old" format wouldn't be somehow a threat for the new technologies, including blueray.

Anybody has never mentionned any relation between Lucas and the blue ray to my knowledge, so I almost wonder if my far memories are so real, but here they are:

At the time of RotJ (1983/84), I had a special magazine entirely about the making off. Lucas spoked of one of his project: developping a new technology: the blue laser. I'm 90% sure it was said in it...

I had a first listen to the stuff you posted. Note that the computer on wich I have it doesn't really show, but well. As you may expect, I was more interesting in hearing the music than anything else (I'm untutored to anything concerning video and audio mixes for films) and I was amazed by the clarity and the space feeling listening to trumpets (or horns) !!! They did not sound at all like any of the three ANH OST releases. If you have the main title and mostly the end titles with such a quality, I'll surely do something with them. You know where to find me. ;)

Moth3r, may I suggest you delete the thread...? There's nothing more to see, or to say.

Just a suggestion though.

Threads don't get deleted here (usually), they remain so that some future threadarcheologist can dig them up years later and learn from the mistakes of the past.

Well, delete the thread is perhaps going to far. I was mostly thinking of the last HelmetCrow post, and quotes. If anyone can't understand why, so be it. But I think suicidal tendendies should remain... Only good music!
