J. Williams & LSO, The EMPIRE STRIKES BACK AUDIOPHILE EDITION - Restored & Remastered Score (Released)
Time

Well, I don't want to make a new thread for that... so:

Does anyone have or can do a rip of the STAR WARS MUSICAL JOURNEY DVD version of "The Asteroid Field" ?

I have the DVD but if I do it myself it will be the shortcut: default magnetophone + edit with the anthology or the RSO on the two dialogues...

Thanks for help

RE-SCORING THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK: THE 1980 FILM VERSION EDIT (Released)
Time

20th Century Mark said:

... is this "edit" of the 35mm or 70mm version?

Is the difference about the "Rebel Fleet/End Title" ?

If so, at that time I wasn't able to make the difference between the film and the album(s) versions. Didn't notice there was an Alt "March" version, and an alt intro for the Alt march... So this one being from the Anthology CD2 is a melt: the album intro of the March with the film version that follows it.

As noted in the OP post, "the Rebel Fleet" is extended with the missing album bit, when both the 35mm and the 70mm have this extension cut. The only difference between these two as far as I have understood is a slight different edit due to a different film montage.

We had about two pages of discussion about that with msycamore in the ESB Optimum Edition thread (said if you missed it).

I hope it helps.

Anyway, the Anthology mostly used here has been made with mostly the final 35mm definitive version of the score as mixed by Tomlinson, despite some changes in the film.

I'd like to say to finish that my "film cut edit" is a little rough if you consider my last works on Empire. It is also sonically inferior to the laters regarding the sources. Check the samples if you haven't (see my signature + OP post). And this one is about to blow everything - with subtlety of course, hehe.

There's no reason to hurry...

Indeed, and there's a good reason not to hurry. The remixing details above are not totally finished and may be updated sometime. No big change though, but it hapens that sometimes I try again little improvements.

Also, having put together all the superior tracks on CD3 made me notice some last improvements about the EQ's, tiny but welcome.

... if the few samples I've heard of it is any indication, it's looking very promising.

:) ... That's a crazy set anyway. I was wondering about what samples I could add on this topic but sure the best tracks will remain a surprise.

Like ABC's rambalinz? I guess theres methods in his madness doh.

ALELUYA !!!... "methods" is perhaps a bit too technical. "Sense" (absurd of course). Mostly an European can understand that it seems.

Frink, why do you insist when the picture have been removed by me in the 30 sec after C3PX made me understand it was too much? Ok there's now the link, but there's a warning too. You just WANT to make a fuss, that's obvious. ;)

PS: and it is not an asshole, it's an ass and a satyristic 500 years old painting. Only a vicious and disturbed brain will see a hole. Note: its is a painting warning about the attraction of interdictions - Thought it was full of signification regarding your "rules"... Funny and clever.

You have a nice explaination of this painting here (in french unfortunately) :

Just stop being hostile. And if having me on your ignore list is not enough I can't do nothing more for you, nor the mods I guess !

Your topic isn't a private place unfortunately for you.

OK I am seeding this now for 20 Century Mark,if anyone else is interested PM me soon before I delete the torrent,it is not on any site, you have to get the torrent directly from me.

... Quoted for being on topic.

And thank D_J to let me think this work is worth the listen :)

I recently noticed the "Ice Planet" in the film has the famous SE 15 sec "missing bit" with a repetition in it, what is not the case on my edit.

Are you talking about a 15th century flemish painting I posted? ! lol !... Would be amazing to see the mods ban me for that under your insistance. And yes, it was cleverly used, no matter the shape.

I'm quoting D_J for the last time... Don't insist. You'll be happy when you'll see I can't post anymore !

msycamore,

To end that confusion once for all, I just noticed the Anthology album (CD2) End Title has not the tracked Imperial March bit, but is made of the Alt March beginning of the original album + the film version Alt March...

Crazy !

Yeah, both the film and album version seems to share about 9sec of the concert arrangement.

Ah, ok... I just rode what you rode... Perhaps it's right but what I was trying to say is they have both the same film version parts on 20 to 30 sec, excepted the intro (about ten sec) ... to make it clear: they made three different versions: the Album, the Anthology, the film version.

DS dont belong tangled up in these stupid rulez.

... Well, I guess we just play the game for fun (for the great fun of Frink mostly), but beware... He really takes that very seriously... behind the humorous façade ;)

... He's actually recalling me the forum rules in my own threads (while he has me on "ignore" list...) with a cop stick :) See by yourself ;)

I can't get you back bud, you just took the wrong turn to infernal punishments ! Hahaha... (sepulchral laugh heard in the background).
