i never said the scene was fake, i said it was pieced together and reuses existing dialogue.
i never said the scene was fake, i said it was pieced together and reuses existing dialogue.
but doest it mean that the scene was actually shot and then cut from the film for whatever reason? From what we are speculating the scene was partially shot, then made up of other unused shots and new CGI to create a new shot. I know what you are saying and agree with you, its just that this seems like a half assed effort in creating something that was never really there. ie the star destroyer scene in ESB SE is so obviously from RotJ footage. It just looks cheap, rushed and gimickie to sell. thats what Im trying to say. It is becoming so typical of Lucas these days.
So deleted scenes are now not even that. They are re-created scenes. The rest of the deleted scenes are probably made up of clips from the original trailers.
OK, i have watched this about 100 times now and i have pieced the audio together from Empire and Jedi. I have to agree that this scene is more or less made up. The only dialogue I didn't find (and I didn't look very hard) is Vader saying "dark side of the force" . All the other I have matched up with existing dialogue.
I agree. I think the dialogue is pieced together.
I must say watching that scene gave me shivers! Its was very cool.
HOWEVER, do you think that will be the best of the deleted scenes from the OT in the BluRay set? I mean, that's the scene they are showcasing, as cool as it is, if that is the best it gets, not worth buying as far as I'm concerened.
Cool thanks. Got to find me a copy of the original.
just watched it. wow. while some of the "additions" are obvious, but yes there are quite a few of changes. I'm guessing the original version has never seen a proper release?
Ah youtrube....thanks, or should i say thx
OK this is totally off the topic of this thread, but after reading about all these changes, can someone explain to me what was changed in THX 1138? I have only seen the director's cut and I can pretty much guess what had been added via CGI, but is there a thread with a list of all the changes?

On topic, wish I was going, just to see if I could run into a few of you guys.
Agree. I'd be there in a heartbeat if it was an ot.com convention.
Why not an ot.com convention? Sounds like a good idea to me.
Great idea!
and he should never have tried editing
The force.net and the official site have a blurb every time a new sticker book comes out ...
LOL how true

Who cares about the blu ray since it will not have either theatrical versions, the 1977, or 1997 .
It will be total crap. The new mix being created will suck too since Ben burtt does no longer work for Luca$film. Matthew wood is doing the mix, it will be garbage.
Yep, what he said.

I am totally into this as well. And I think a Facebook page would really help to reach more supporters.
I have to agree with Moth3r. Unless there is some good news about this. When ever I see this thread get "bumped", I get excited only to read the same crap over and over....
I'll make sense of it for $20!
I need a Bluray burner as well, send me money please!
yeah, whatever....
anyway, is this "edit" of the 35mm or 70mm version?
Why do you bump the threads if you are not going to support them?
dark_jedi is the man!
Uh, OK, thanks.
