Now I just waste time here during work.

If you don’t mind my asking, I’m curious: what is your job that allows you to waste so much time here?

Same. Now whenever I’m going to another job site or my Dad is deliberating with someone about they want objectives to be tackled I go on here. But it’s hard writing responses on a mobile device; especially one that’s as crappy as the one I have.

People hate their job, so this is probably the reason you hate anime.

Eh. The originals are fun and obviously get major props for starting the whole thing but the X series is, in my opinion, better in every conceivable way.

Having played X - X7 it’s hard to go back the originals due to the lack of Dash Boots. It makes them almost impossible for me to fully enjoy

Yeah, I get ya. I walked on the series after 3. Not because I didn’t still like the games, but age and life changes, ect. I have played some of the X games and, yeah, they are better all around. But I still love 2. I love the music (8bit fa lyfe!), the boss design, level design and that opening…
Nothing I’ve seen from the other games come even close to the opening of 2. The music slowly speeding up as the camera pans to the top of the building. MM standing there without his helmet. Heroic. Then the theme kicks in fully. Just awesome.
Then ya press start, the helmet goes on and yer ready to kick some ass!

Spidey 1 and 2 were great and my first major PSX games when I got my console. The music and acting were great I thought but they don’t hold as well over time in terms of gameplay.
2 on ps2 is legendary for its swinging and gta styled sandbox for good reason but severely limited in other ways. The newer games have mixed reviews and are still expensive used so I think I’ll just wait for the ps4 game as I need to still play Arkham Knight anyway.

Maybe I’ll fire up 2 as I just want to go web swinging.

Every now and then I’ll play a deathmatch on Doom I or II. I like it old school, but I’ll be buying Doom 4 sometime soon. I really like the looks of it.

The single player campaign is amazing, but if you’re getting it for the MP, don’t. It’s dumbed down, especially with the loadouts (tons of players bunny hopping and blasting the entire map with rocket launchers at random because you can spawn with pretty much whatever weapons you want except for the chainsaw and BFG). And the cheating is infuriating.

UT4, dude. Seriously.

I would be getting it purely for the campaign. I play online games very rarely, and when I do it’s only with specific friends of mine.

I have very fond memories of Spider Man 2. I haven’t played it in 10 years, how hasn’t it held up?

Ghostbusters: The Video Game (2009)

This long neglected franchise has been enjoying a bit of a resurgence of late and I caught a case of ghost fever. I’ve since rewatched the original two films, revisited the television show and have dived right into the very good IDW comic series and decided it was time to revisit this gem.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is the long lost third film we never got. The entire cast returned to reprise their roles in a very fitting and fun story that continues where the films left off. Gameplay is very fun with a variety of new gadgets to bust the various spooks, specters and ghosts you encounter. Speaking of which, there is a very nice variety of different enemies on display here that keep things varied from encounter to encounter. The game also still holds up very well graphically for a title of its age. If you’re a fan of the Ghostbusters and video games this is definitely a title you don’t want to miss!

For some reason I’m itching to play a Spidey game as good as 2 on PS2. Have any of the PS3 era titles been with playing?
Btw I hated Ultimate. Just a huge letdown.
Why don’t they realize all we want to do is swing around and have fun is beyond me…just like they thought we didn’t want a fantastic next gen Indy game…

Spidey 2 might be my all time favorite game (not much of a gamer in fairness).

If you’re willing for a game that’s a slight step down but mostly the same, can’t go wrong with Spidey 3 (which must be pretty cheap nowadays).

I need to play Spider-Man 2 sometime. It was past my time for it to be nostalgic at all, but I remember it being really good, but that was before movie-licensed games became total shit as a whole.

Just played through the Fallout: New Vegas’ Dead Money DLC. Absolutely grueling and totally un-fun. I appreciate that they were trying something new, going for more of a survival horror atmosphere, but I hated every minute of it. The Ghost People were a pain in the ass to kill, and who’s idea was it to place deadly red fog everywhere? Not to mention the explosive collar that goes off if you spend too much time in an area you shouldn’t. And on top of that, there were unkillable holograms that are able to kill you in one shot, so you can only try and not get spotted by them. I ended using cheats to turn godmode on, just so I could get it over with. The only saving grace was the story.

Am I the only one who found Fallout 3 completely grueling?

I don’t think I’ve ever finished Fallout 3, honestly. New Vegas is better in every way, so I’ve never really had a reason to do a full playthrough.

I just couldn’t figure out what to do or where to go. I also couldn’t stand the fighting. I grew up on Doom, Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein, and later Goldeneye, so I prefer the point and shoot types.

Fallout 3 is an RPG that looks like an FPS. If you go in expecting expecting Doom-like play mechanics, you’re bound to be disappointed. It rewards exploration and doesn’t do much to push you in any particular direction; if you talk to NPCs and follow their hints, getting through the main storyline shouldn’t be much of a problem, but “finishing” the game isn’t necessarily the point and is entirely optional. I spent most of my time exploring the wasteland and only wrapped up the main quest when I finally got tired of playing.

I didn’t expect Doom-like play mechanics, but once I realized that I couldn’t get through the exploration, the fact that the shooting was so unintuitive pushed me over the edge. Another problem I had was all the dialogue where you have to choose what to say. That was taking too long so I just stopped playing.

None of these are even critiques of the game really. It just wasn’t for me.

So you bought the game knowing nothing about it or the genre it represents? OK.

I heard that it was the best game ever and it was $3.99

EDIT: Next time I make a $4 purchase I’ll be sure to do some more field research though.
