Star Wars: Rogue One - * Non Spoiler Discussion Thread * — Page 20

There’s been some discussion as to where General Dodonna is in RO, and apparently he might be in the trailer standing in the dark behind Mon Mothma.
(I’d be surprised if the guy in the picture below is not supposed to be Dodonna, he’s a dead ringer for Alex McCrindle.)

(PS. Should this be in the spoiler thread? I’m a bit confused as to what’s the difference, I mean all we have so far is one teaser trailer, so what exactly qualifies as a “spoiler”?)

Nice catch! Always wondered why we never saw him in Empire.

Where were you in '77?

Well, as far the lore goes there’s roughly four years between ANH and ESB, so a lot could have happened. He might even have been killed, hence his absence on Hoth. Also, I’m not too sure how the new canon works, so I guess he could simply be somewhere else during that time period.
Is the Rebellion larger in the new EU? That’s the impression I’m getting from a lot of the discussions about it here on the forum. I always figured that the Rebels in the OT, before the PT and Disney was mostly one small army with several smaller branches around the galaxy, but I guess that’s no longer the case?

(PS. I didn’t technically “catch” the above detail, unless you count me watching a YouTube video and sharing a link and a screenshot here as a “catch”.)

I pondered about how the movie would end the other night and thought it would be cool if, after stealing the plans and transferring them to Leia, Felicity Jones’ character is captured and put in the detention area in the Death Star. There are shots of her being interrogated and what not. Then she hears the muffled sounds of blaster fire, and then a voice from the other side of the walls “my name is Luke Skywalker, I’m here to rescue you…” A few more shots of time passing (the brass maybe asking her who these two men and their Wookie were) and then alarms go off. People are running around, the station starts to rumble, the lights flicker and she understands what is happening and says, “They did it…” And then… Explosion.

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

It would be actually great if they somehow included Katarn into this. 😃

I’ve gone back 4 pages in this thread and couldn’t find anything anyone was disagreeing with you about. I’m a bit confused…

Thankyou! I didn’t actually spot that guy in the backround during that Mon Mothma shot. I hope you’re right, as I really wanted his character to be involved in this thing in some way.

It’s weird that not until now, did I even think about that. There must have been so many innocent/rebel prisoners aboard the Death Star that died in the aftermath. But I guess the needs of the many, outway the few. Saving the rebel base and entire planets is a bigger deal. But, huh that’d be quite a way to end the movie.

What.

My guess is you said something silly.

Let me give you an example. If you think TFA is not good, that’s an opinion. If you think TFA is worse than every other Star Wars movie, that’s silly.

@Mavimao

^ That is cool idea I really like that 😃

I doubt that is the plan though, far too heroic for Hollywood.

Cool spot for General Dodonna too.

So considering there are many look-a-like actors. Remember the Tarkin in CGI rumour.

Do you think they found a look-a-like for Peter Cushing?

They had one for ROTS:

He was mostly prosthetic.

You know the two sticks on her back… is she (pretending to be) a semaphore operator for the landing bay Ties and so on?

Runway Agent or something like that. THen again she is actually in a pilots uniform

They might just be those batons that we saw her beat stormtroopers with earlier in the trailer.

Not to mention roofing contractors.

Perhaps we need to have a stronger spoiler policy in regards to R1 (like we successfully had for TFA) because this ^ seems suspiciously like spoilering based on leaked rumours and not speculating.

I want to spend the rest of the year excitedly speculating about R1 in this thread and not being afraid to look inside it.
