I watched Serenity first I didn’t even know about the telly show at the time. Now there is a film they could do a sequel to.

Batman (1966)
Pure Silver Age silliness. Is it objectively good? I don’t know if I can really answer that. Do I love it? Absolutely.
Besides, even though it’s cheap, this Batman still has arguably the best live action adaptation of any comic bat-costume (unless you count BvS’ diet-Frank Miller suit)
.
Kick-Ass 8/10
Too much swearing and crude humour but other than that it’s pretty good. Check it out!

Black Dynamite (2009) - 7/10
It was very hilarious and insanely quotable, though after a while the premise wore a little thin and I began to think this may work better as a fake trailer or a short film.

“I threw that shit before I walked in the room!” is one of my favourite movie quotes of all time.

Serenity (2005) – B
I watched through Firefly over the past several days and I just got to the movie. I liked it a lot.
One overpowering notion that I’ve had is that it felt like the plot was kind of rushed to squish it into a feature film (as there was no more series for them to finish the story). There wasn’t as much explanation for certain things that I was hoping for either.
Anyway, I enjoyed it, and I think it was an alright tie-up to the series.
I actually think Serenity was the best movie based on a TV show I’ve ever seen, and I’d easily give it an A.
Completely understand you. I just felt slightly disappointed in some aspects. I’m not sure I can properly describe what I’m referring to, so I’ll just leave it at that.

…If a few characters died at the end like it seemed like they were going to, I would have given it an A+. I understand they still had hope of continuing on with the show or another movie, but it would have been an amazing way to end if almost everyone died.

I’d say two deaths is enough. I loved those characters, and having already liked Ron Glass from an acting standpoint (Barney Miller), the loss of his character saddened me. I also thought Wash’s death seemed very odd. It just kind of happened (not that it’s a bad thing, necessarily). Anyway, I thought the mostly happy ending was a great way to end the story.

SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.

Superman: The Movie (1978)
2/5
Idk bout y’all but I feel this movie has aged terribly. It’s saddening considering the nostalgia I have for this film from my childhood. I just really thought Man of Steel was stronger. The character development might be lacking in Man of Steel but it still is powerful unlike the cringe fest that this film put me through.
I don’t like Superman: The Movie either.
Pushing aside all my issues with Clark’s characterization, I still hate everything pertaining to Luthor, Otis, and that dumbass ending.
Warcraft - 2/5
Only having seen the trailer, that seems high.
You’re right. 1.8/5
Complete bastardization of the lore.

It’s baffling that it’s a 4 stars on RogerEbert.com. Man of Steel is leaps and bounds ahead of the first superman.

If you don’t like the first Donner Superman, that’s fine. But saying Man of Steel is better? 'Em is fighting words!

Man of steel is deeper, better acted, better characterization (surprisingly enough) all IMO

haha no
The Graduate again.
Also, I just bought a ticket for a screening of Lawrence of Arabia at one of my favorite independent theaters tomorrow night. Can’t wait. I saw it on the big screen a few years back when the 50th anniversary restoration came out, but that’s a movie that I’ll go see as often as theaters want to show it.

Man of steel is more pretentious, has horrible over the top acting, and no characterization whatsoever (surprisingly enough) all IMO

I like the Gungan cut more than the originally released Rush cut.

Coolidge Corner? Damn, I haven’t checked their schedule in awhile and already made plans for tonight. Maybe next time (I did already see it a couple years back at the Brattle though). Lawrence of Arabia is one of my all time favorites.
Interstellar (2014)
This movie had no business being almost three hours long. Did the editor take a long nap and the movie was released without his or her knowledge? Beyond that, it reminded me a little of Sunshine in that both were very interesting movies that utterly failed in the last act. There was some really good stuff in it, which only made it all the more disappointing.

You need a second opinion 😄
I almost never see movies 2 and a half hours and longer. It’s the main reason why I skipped Civil War.
The Person in Question
Anymore, films that long are poorly edited or just bad. They drag on. The epics of the past, however—Lawrence of Arabia, The Ten Commandments, Ben Hur, etc—are a very different story.
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.
Forgot to mention on Interstellar that I liked the robots personalities, but the design was stupid. Unintentional laughter every time they “walked” and especially when they “ran.”
