I don't have that kind of patience. I plan to post something constructive on post #34567.
#3263827 for me.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

That's the kind of page an idiot would have on his luggage.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
See, now that's how you go off-topic if you're gonna. Well played.

If we get that far before ESB:R is released, I'll throw myself in my apartment's garbage compactor.

HAHAHA CLASSIC
What ever happened to this project Adywan are you still alive?
Project is on hold so Ady can do a paying gig so he can finish the edit. He's very much alive.TheDoctor1987 said:

For fun, we posted this video of our 3D printer I didn't know we had.
Thanks for letting me know i loved A New Hope Revisited and am watching Empire Strikes Back right now then Return Of The Jedi!
Thanks Tim, saves me some time. ;-)

Woha!
any chance that those 3D logos go into "mass production" ?
THAT would be a nice way to collect some donations for RotJ:R and PT:R ;-)
I'd love to see a parody poster made in the style of the promo images for Fight Club:
Just cast one of those babies in pink resin, have costumed Vader holding it in that same pose with a thumbs up, and have the tag line "Scrubbing the SE clean".

LOL
So a member from the Revisited team owns the 3D printer? That is indeed a very cool custom Revisited logo. Through this, I wonder what other creations might be made for Revisited - I'm sure there are some ideas.
I believe we've already used the 3D printer for as-yet-unrevealed miniatures. Or revealed miniatures. It's not my job to keep track of such things.
What's that? It is? Oh.
I remember now that we released this picture, so yeah.

Oh yeah, I guess a 3d-printed radar dish should have been a pretty good sign that there's a 3d-printer involved.

Brash has been working with us for quite a few months already and has turned out a large number of parts for various models/sets over that time. I'm sure he could give you a more detailed run-down on the different pieces...

Thanks for the mention! The first stuff I printed for Revisited was last October right after I got the printer. Some really detailed stuff for Ady's miniature Echo Base set which would've been a nightmare to scratch build by hand. I got onboard pretty late in the game, so there wasn't that much left to build where a 3D printer would've come in handy, but I'll be putting it to use on ROTJ:R in a big way. Doubleofive has already linked to that test print of the dish, which will be utilised for Ady's enormous scratch built Falcon :)
Here's an example of the kind of stuff I've wasted a ton of resin on:
I'm sure Ady won't mind if I post about a couple of the things I've printed for the Echo Base set. One of them is even in a Facebook photo already. I don't take credit for any of the actual designs - they're all made by more talented people, one of which is working on the CG for Revisited. The images below are before the models have had their support structures snipped off, and cleaned up:
Finally, here's a still from the unaltered movie showing both these objects.
Very cool!
Woah, that's incredible!
The 3D printer tech is still fairly new to me, so I don't know of its limitations or possibilities, but I've heard it can do almost anything. Is resin not too expensive?
That's gotta open up another door of possibilities for Revisited, not to mention it'll save Ady a great deal of time :)
The resin for this IS pretty pricey. Most printers use spools of ABS or PLA plastic, which they melt and deposit from a nozzle, but this type uses photoreactive resin which is hardened by a laser. This gives it the benefit of printing at amongst the highest resolutions possible, with layer thicknesses of 25 microns (0.025mm, so 1/40th of a millimetre!)
That material is impressive stuff the light shining through yoda's ears for example quite mind bending stuff.
I have to admit that Hoth Hanger miniature set is the model I am most looking forward to and I wondered how those pilot access gantries were made from the photo's. Again very good modeling and printing.
I have seen these 3D printers in action but that was a powder type this seems a bit different can this one do moving parts?
Also while on the subject of models I came across a very talented model makers work called Jason Eaton, I think you may be aware of him but if not you should be. Please check out his work because He is a like minded individual (Sci-Fi / Star Wars) and does animatronic parts and motors on his models. I believe he has accurate and some with moving parts Probe droid, AT-ST, Death Star Turret for example. Just trying to be helpful by mentioning this and not be rude.
