I can't wait for this project to finish.

One because it looks great.

Two because I'm looking forward to what Adywan can do with RotJ. :D

Three, so this thread can die out like the ANH:R one, and we can move on to discussing problems with ROTJ for a few months before that thread devolves into ... whatever this is.

well look at the topic title

"STAR WARS: EP V  "REVISITED EDITION"**ADYWAN** - **RELEASE DATE 2011**"

Sheesh.

Q: What's the difference between this thread title and the other two instances of ADYWAN?
A:  This is the only one where ALL THE WORDS ARE IN CAPS, RATHER THAN JUST "ADYWAN"

Anyway, I'm going to tell myself to WRAP IT UP now.

Shadows of the Empire reveals that Palpy loved to make his servants squirm and fester against one another.  That Vader sought to overthrow Palp is a driving force behind what we always felt Vader was up to, especially given the dialogue in the Core on Bespin.

That doesnt count. Is EU crap.

We all know that ady will not do any changes to the dialogue.

So dont bother to explain any further ideas from flaws that came from PT or EU.

Fine.  It makes no difference if you discard SOTE as an example to make my point.  Empire reveals Vader desired Luke to achieve his destiny in destroying the Emperor, upon which Vader says that he and Luke can rule the galaxy as father and son.   So case made regardless of the EU.  The fact the Jedi duel reveals Palp getting off on the conflict between father and son makes the same point SOTE made; Vader had plenty of reasons to keep his knowledge and plans with Luke secret from the Emperor.

That Emp tells Vader they have a new enemy is already known to Vader per the opening crawl in Empire.  That Skywalker was that enemy is no surprise to Vader who had to know Emp would soon sense Luke's power and tremors in the Force.

I have always thought, since seeing Empire on opening day in 1980 - that Vader knew before Emp who Luke was, and what their relationship was.  The only question back then was whether or not Vader was lying to Luke.

The idea that Emp reveals to Vader that Luke is Skywalker's offspring is insulting to our intelligence and contrary to the actual storyline already underway.  It also seriously diminishes the impact of Vader's reveal to Luke in the Bespin core.

As to whether or not Ady will change the dialogue - I would imagine considering his meticulous and thusfar perfect additions and tweaks to both ANH-R and what I've seen of ESB:R - I'm not worried about his decision about what dialogue to include in the hologram conference on the Executor.

As I said, the only addition I see worthwhile from the 2006 DVD is the line "The young rebel who destroyed the Death Star" and then Luke's name.

Playing it back on a better sound system, I notice that “new enemy: Young Skywalker” doesn’t sound all that clean.  Is it because “young” was lifted from the source separate from the surrounding words, or because the video shifts from Hoth to Cloud City?

Is the current state of the Emperor scene available, or is this trailer the only place to hear the dialog?

Time is running out for the Rebels. Antilles upcourt to Skywalker. He’s being paced by Darth Va— the bone-jarring pick by Solo! He came out of nowhere! Skywalker’s open from way outside, he launches at the buzzer... Good! It’s good! The Rebels win on a sensational buzzer beater by Luke Skywalker! Let’s take another look at that last shot. He just does get it off in time. Wow, what a shot. That’s why they call him Luke Legend.

That may be the most exciting battle I have ever been privileged to broadcast. Certainly the most dramatic finish. We’ll get you an update on the Artoo Detoo injury situation in just a moment. Right now let’s go courtside where SuperShadow is waiting with Chewbacca.

INVAR - Those points you make about the movie are very important indeed and I've also followed those since day one and been fascinated by them.

The opening crawl, Vader and Emperor's communication and finally Luke and Vader's confrontation are for me the three most important parts in what the the psychologically inside the story is all about.

They also play a huge role in the development and understanding of Vader's character arc.

I must admit though, the line "The young rebel who destroyed the Death Star" is pretty bad, for me at least.

I feel as though the original dialogue is all that is needed, so I'll be very happy indeed if no change is made there.

Nice to read your thoughts on all that though :)

I'm sorry but....that cloud city shot in the trailer still grabs me by the sweets and delightfully twists.  Love it.  Carry on.

I actually think the line "The young rebel who destroyed the Death Star" is a great addition, as logically Emp would want to convey to Vader the significance of the danger Luke posed to them.

From Emp's P.O.V. if he was informing Vader of his sense of the future - Emp's arrogance may be that Vader had no concrete info about Luke and he was letting Vader know how dangerous Luke has already been to their Empire.

Emp suggesting Luke could destroy them was immediately rebutted by Vader reassuring Emp that Luke was just a boy - and that he had no more help in the Jedi training department.  Vader may have been trying to avoid an order to destroy Luke before Vader could convince Emp to try and convert him to the Dark Side.

"We have a new enemy.  The young rebel who destroyed the Death Star, Luke Skywalker".

"Yes my master."

"He could destroy us."

"He is just a boy, Obi-Wan can no longer help him".

The original dialogue works fine also - I just think that one line addition adds some depth to the reason WHY Emp considers Luke to be a danger to them both.  The boy destroyed the Death Star, and - Emp may have wanted to make that point clear of who this new enemy was before mentioning his name.

And all these might work on an other edit.

Ady will not change any of these for any of the reasons you mention.

So if I got it right, Ady's going to put the image of ROTJ emperor, the voice of 2004 edition, and the script from 1980, no?

QUESTION FOR ADYWAN

So during my progress for CWN, I realised a lot of the preview shots were laggy. I have a 2.6 dual core processor and 5GB of RAM - my graphic card is an Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset. I feel that the RAM and CPU are sufficient, but that I need a new graphic card. What is your opinion on the matter?

Everything has a rating of 6/7 in my hardware, but the graphics card and windows aero experience is only 3/7. Do I need a new graphic card?

But, if I understand correctly, there isn't really anything to change. Vader wanted Luke to kill the Emperor so Vader could become the new emperor, Luke would become his new apprentice and they would then "rule the galaxy as father and son". The Emperor wanted Luke to kill Vader and become his new stronger, younger apprentice- "now, fulfill you destiny and take your fathers place at my side". That was all already there.

Sure! But as you can see people here want to remove leia's lines from the movie. So if they have a "vision" it will be welcome to any other edit attemts or to be noted as reference idea for those who likes these ideas.

About this matte we talked a while ago:

After an analysis I made (that I will post on my thread after the Falcon issue) I concluded that the transports scale is really wrong, the right transport in the background is missing its cockpit/pod and its landing gear doen't touch the ground.

I've done a mock-up to see if it's possible to solve the problems without actually changing the size of the matte:

And I always felt that this scene was awfully quiet for an evacuation, it's especially true with this background guys now scaled down, so here's another one with more things going on:

So the foreground people should shrink to match the others? I have to admit the base looks extremely big now :) more PT i can say from the pov of scale.

It looks better but the painterly foreground objects and floor need to go and if the mid-ground arches were replaced by model elements there would be a much greater impression of depth.

Where would the “more things going on” come from?  Shoot new footage?  Just how sophisticated is this operation?
