I just found out that Shadows of the Empire got its own soundtrack. Listening to it now. I love it.

I think I’m done with Disney Star Wars, because on the one hand the live action stuff leaves me indifferent, and on the other I absolutely loathe the Disney Star Wars cartoons.
Oh man. Season 3 of Mandalorian is so bad…
Disney is messing everything up.
If they hired me I’d pitch them a new original Star Wars series called “Anchorhead”. It’s a 1970s-style sitcom with a laugh track, about the antics of Camie, Fixer, Biggs Darklighter and Luke Skywalker as they come of age on Tatooine. In the first episode, Luke and Biggs get into deep trouble with Old Man Lars after accidentally damaging a moisture vaporator while racing their T-16s. Meanwhile, Fixer suspects Camie of shenanigans after spying on her at Tosche station. Guest starring Tony Danza as the voice of 3B6-RA-7.
This is an edited post. I was being foolish.
Mandalorian season 3 is the worst piece of Star Wars that’s ever been created.
I’m not trolling. I’m dead serious.
That’s a little… extreme.
I get why you feel like that, though. I didn’t immediately notice it after the season was done, but something about it feels like it’s sort of “devalued” Star Wars as a whole. It just feels very low-effort throughout, in a way that reminds me of the worst parts of Kenobi.
Personally, Kenobi felt much more insulting to me, because I had very high hopes, but Mando season 3 is something that’s almost as bad as being insulting: it’s bland. I haven’t been able to work up a single bit of passion for any of that season in retrospect, and it makes it hard to look forward to future content.
My preferred Skywalker Saga experience:

In hindsight, I believe it was the wrong choice to make Ben’s and Anakin’s lightsabers the same colour. If I was capable of making fanedits, I’d make Luke’s lightsaber in SW & TESB yellow.

I want a complete version of the 6 SW movies without music. It would be interesting to watch, because in the real world there’s no music in the background.

The Rise Of Skywalker should have a post credits scene at the Lars homestead where an alien named Throg appears to Rey , screams at her and says , ," GET OFF MY LAWN! "( if you know , you know.)

I’m currently pulling up Wookieepedia to confirm, but Throg was from the old Star Wars 3-D comic right?
Edit: Right on.
Move along, move along.

In Deed . " Throg thanks you little man . "
I momentarily read “Throg” as “Thorg”, which brought this to mind:

oops , I spelled his name wrong …it’s Throgg .
I picture Luke’s face from the moment in TLJ as he aches while hearing Yoda confront him with bitter truths often when reading existential material.
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.
I guess nothing important will ever take place in an EU novel, since they’ll want to save that for the screen.

I think one of the main reasons I enjoy the Visions animated series so much is that it often shows Jedi from an Original Trilogy depiction or point of view. Rather than the stunted, baffling, and poorly written Jedi we saw in the Prequels.
Last week saw Visions season 2 finally get official episode guides. Which is nice, but I have no idea why they took so long:

The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.
Formerly Emre1601 - computer hard drives are brittle too!
Anakin and Aayla Secura would make a nice couple.

I loved that soundtrack. Shadows of the Empire needs tp be re-published in the new line of essentials legends.

I think I realize why so many people don’t like The Last Jedi.
It smirks.
For all of it’s faults, The Force Awakens doesn’t try to be clever. It doesn’t smirk; it’s earnest.
Of course, The Rise of Skywalker is the worst of both worlds as neither clever nor earnest.

I didn’t get that vibe from TLJ. It’s the only one of the ST I genuinely like.
I can kinda see that. I felt during my initial viewing that it was trying to be clever and I didn’t trust it during Luke’s final stand. So many backs-and-forth about what’s happening. (I still think RJ put a small spot on the sun so that we might think Luke sees a ship coming to save him.)

This is not to say that I don’t like the movie. TLJ is the sequel I have the most respect for, since it seems to be trying to say something. But the way it treats the characters and the universe seems almost flippant at times, even toward story elements of its own invention.
Who cares about Anakin’s/Luke’s lightsaber?
Who cares about Snoke?
Who cares about Hux, the First Order, or even the Resistance?
Who cares about the Sacred Jedi Texts?
Whereas prior Star Wars movies would earnestly engage with their own universe and story, this one pulls back and asks: who cares? Instead of pitting good versus evil, or even one side versus another, the story asks whether or not we should even care at all. Even if eventually the answer is yes, we should care, as it seems to be saying in the end, the question still hangs over the entire enterprise and feels like a mutation of something deep in the DNA of this surrealist fantasy. It is the dreamer pinching themselves and wondering why they don’t simply awaken from the dream, which is both the most unique strength of the film and also its greatest weakness.
Just a weird movie, and difficult to describe.

One thing TLJ carried over from TFA that did bother me was the fixation with Anakin’s lightsaber.
Seriously, what the hell happened to Luke’s lightsaber? It only appears in flashbacks.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he threw it over a cliff too
