Also, in the Poe Dameron Tie-In comics the First Order stormtroopers are shown to be using Jet Packs which Poe see them flying already. It was like Lucasfilm had forgotten about canon material they had already released. But unless your delving into every book and comic most ppl would have not known this. But some canon consistency would be nice.

If I might make a suggestion, could you add a wipe in the “Journey to Exegol” clip, more specifically between the lightspeed shot and Kylo overseeing Vader’s mask? I feel as though a simple cut seems a bit jarring. :v

I’ve been casually looking at your preview videos.
An observation about the Holdo’s sacrifice clip - Hux makes the trip from the bridge to Snoke’s throne room very quickly, especially on a ship that has just been sliced and diced by a Mon Calimari Ginsu Cruiser.
I know you’re trying to tighten up three movies into one edit but that watches like a speed bump to me (I feel the same way about C3P0 in TESB, in one shot he’s in the command center on Hoth and then literally in the next scene he’s in the hangar telling R2 to be careful).
Your Journey To Exegol scene is very nicely done.

I’ve never noticed that in ESB! I imagine it was due to those wampa scenes being criminally cut from the film…

I get what you’re saying, though. In the theatrical he also gets from the docking bay up to the bridge fairly quickly, too. I feel like it’s ambiguous enough as to how much time has passed since the shipwreck when we cut back to the bridge, as Rey managed to wake up, leave, steal a ship and get away already. Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for this! I did play around with a lot of different kinds and speeds of wipes on this cut, but ultimately stuck with this. I think what I might try and do is extend the hyperspace shot out but just a few frames. The issue with a wipe is that it implies the passage of time, whereas I want this whole sequence (the Resistance leaving Crait/Kylo being led to Exegol) to be relatively contemporaneous in the context of the film.

Great work!

Not particularly related, but I’ve always found the sound of the Porg in the film to be far inferior to the one used in the trailer:

It’s just something about the way the Porg sustains that scream that feels incredibly forced in the film, for whatever reason.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Oh yeah, the one in the trailer even fits the animation better weirdly. I get wanting to make it more of a “war(g) cry” but they definitely could have gone with another couple iterations for it.

Not late at all! I’ve been working on this pretty consistently since January, it’s feeling like the current version is as final as it’s going to get. Will send you a PM!

You wanted feedback so here it is.

Like every fan edit, we can debate the details here and here but overall your work show great respect to the source material, reinforcing the strength of the sequels while eliminating the rough edges. I certainly will recommend your edit for star wars fans who have a hard time enjoying the sequels but want to watch them anyway for whatever reason.

If i have to point one thing, i would move the some time later before Kylo go to Mustafar get the way finder. I understand what you went for but his face scar almost healed and his conversation with the First Order generals are two elements that make the time jump more logical in its original place IMO.

But it is not that important, i enjoy this a lot as a pretty big fan of the sequels ( even with their shortcomings.) Good job and thank you.

Thank you for the feedback! I understand where the critique regarding the time skip is coming from, for sure. I am considering removing the title card entirely and allowing the viewer to fill in whatever timing gaps the intuit to be right. I’ll have a play around with it at some point. Glad you enjoyed.
