Order 66 is one of the weakest scenes in an already weak film. The Jedi are way too easily dispatched, and don’t fade when they die. Vader can’t “hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights” if all of them are dispatched this easily.

I mean, they had an explanation for why they don’t fade. Qui-Gon was the first Jedi to learn how to become a ghost, and he passed that information down to Yoda and Obi-Wan.

Agree with almost everything you said. The thing where they don’t fade when they die, though? Doesn’t bother me.

And here’s why.

*dramatic pause*

Jedi fading away when they die is a stupid concept and has been since Day 1.

I gotta agree with that. The idea feels way too cheesy for me, and was clearly just done to make the movies more kid-friendly.

Vertigo, while still a good film is overrated. The decision to reveal the truth too early breaks the suspense of the film. The film would have been better if we learned the truth when Jimmy Stewart’s character did.

Or if neither we nor he learned the truth and the film closed on ambiguity.

I’m lost on things like Whills and midichlorians teaching the Jedi to survive as a presence in the force, i checked out on all that. I like the force to remain mysterious its an energy field that exists in all living things is enough, and that it allows the Jedi to have space samurai/ninja/wizard powers.

Lucas seems to have and i mean it in a bad way, to begin to over explain things in the prequels. To give back stories to every character and cheapen them as well.

This isn’t unpopular.

4K UHD is often excessive. A lot of the time, a properly mastered SD or 1080p release is good enough for a film.

There is nothing inherently wrong with 4K though, other than overzealous morons and their DVNR button. In fact its just like the bad early days of blu ray.

I don’t see any reason to pay a premium for a 4K UHD disc that looks worse than its earlier Blu Ray release for instance. Even if some will say well its graded for HDR and you get a spiffy new Atmos mix.

Dazed and Confused is a shit song.

This isn’t just an unpopular opinion, it’s also a shit take made by someone who knows nothing about music.

I agree. Dazed and Confused is actually a good song. I just listened to it previously when I was in a bad mood.

Well, I’m out.

Also, fuck Hollywood.

I’m watching Twilight for the first time and honestly …

It’s much better than people say. I’m really enjoying it.

“Heroes come in all sizes, and you don’t have to be a giant hero. You can be a very small hero. It’s just as important to understand that accepting self-responsibility for the things you do, having good manners, caring about other people - these are heroic acts. Everybody has the choice of being a hero or not being a hero every day of their lives.” - George Lucas

Everything about the Dragonball Super movie with Broly was terrible.

AC3RF on Laserdisc is an overpriced gimmick only useful if you watch a lot of '90s action films. The PCM stereo is already amazing enough.

I don’t agree but that is fine. Only certain titles would benefit from 5.1 obviously. And it is meaningful to own the original mixes for films reissued with altered versions. Far too many blu rays don’t have original mixes. I’m glad for the titles i have. Though honestly its just stuff like Star Trek 1-6, Goldeneye 007, Original untouched Disney Dub for Kiki’s Delivery Service, Star Wars Special Edition 1997, and Phantom Menace. I’m sure there are others but those were the ones that come to mind.

The Zelda Oracle games are underrated, and among the best games of the franchise.

I have never liked James Bond because of his overt misogyny and anti-consent.

I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.

Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

The misogyny has been toned down considerably around the Dalton era, but yeah, it’s because of it that the older Bond movies, particularly the Connery era, have not aged well in that regard.

Craig still has it

I don’t like it when villains in movies are just evil for the sake of being evil, that makes a prime example of bad character development and makes the villain really shallow, boring, uninspired, and just plain uninteresting.

And I hate it when the villains motive is the same old same old “tAkE oVeR tHe WoOoOoOrLd Mwahahahahahahahaha!!!”

I really like when the villain actually has a relatable motive, and the viewer is able to sympathise with them. Even better, is a film with no villain at all.

Overall a really tired trope: the villain that’s just simply a villain that wants to take over the world/universe and enslave all of humanity and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Also, how about a film where the good guys lose, sad ending, and the (relatable and well developed) villain wins.

When’s something gonna happen?

Don’t forget casual racism.

Yeah. Jesus Christ, scenes like him hitting women definitely haven’t aged well. Then again, that was the 1960s, and was a product of the times, but it’s still aged like milk.

On that note, seeing some of the Bond girls, Honey from Dr. No for example, having little to no character and being half-naked most of the time, made me quite uncomfortable, and even offended me a little bit.

But girls like Vesper from Casino Royale are good Bond girls because they have good character and barely show their body.

Even still, Bond still hit women like Tracy, one of the best Bond girls, so…

P.S. I know I talked about it before, but I was to whiny to get my point across.

When’s something gonna happen?
