Thats such a cool idea, adding Jabba’s Palace to the backround of Jawa scene on Tatooine would be a really nice addition highlighting all these important places in the Skywalker Saga.

Maybe add TV’s Frink’s speeder bike and probe droids flying by.
I don’t know about Jabba’s palace. It would imply it’s around the block from the Lars homestead. Prior, it could be on any part of the planet. I don’t think it’d be good to squish it into frame here.

If this edit has Vader’s castle in the background. I think it should have Jabba’s palace too.
Vader’s castle is way more necessary because the original movie doesn’t do a good job of contextualising the opening scene or convey the idea of Kylo being on Mustafar.
With the epilogue, you immediately get the feeling it’s Tatooine because of the jawas and sandcrawler in the establishing shot. And then the homestead and binary sunset basically make it unmistakable. Jabba’s place would be bonus fanservice but isn’t really needed to enhance the scene.

It seems no one’s tackled it yet.
Once I did a very rough concept of where the castle would be placed, but that would be it.

That was the spot I was thinking (scene, not location of castle) where it could work. From the scene before that shot, I would not have it on the right side since you do get a glance of the sky that direction that is blank. I would try the far left side, shrink it down a bit that has some of the opacity removed and the smoke helps hide it a bit so its “there” but not too obvious to avoid a “LOOK AT ME!” vibe maybe?

So, just checking but have we settled on the Naboo shot being in the final version the way it is?
As always I dont want to be mean ore insensitive but I dont feel very comfortable with the idea of it being in there in its current state.

For Vader’s castle - there’s a lot of flashbacks. Would it be worth showing Vader’s castle, then a flash of Rogue One’s bacta tank, then a flash of Vader’s helmet, then finding the way finder?
I think that would be a bit too much. Maybe a quick flash of the castle and that Wayfinder-like silhouette indoors in a vision or something but nothing more.

I think skenera’s recent clip is the best I’ve seen so far. He’s not sure how to finish it up, as the existing footage snooker presented as explosion flashes that reach across the frame.

That looks great. I don’t think the issue lies in the place in which it’s positioned, rather I think it’s the size and perhaps the model itself that seems a little off.
I think the castle should look more distant, towering down from above.

This is something that needs to be retconned out as well…after the pretty visual effect wore off, everyone immediately asked “well why don’t they just ram everything if a smaller ship can take out an entire fleet in one shot.”
The “one in a million” excuse doesn’t work since they can just launch every ship over and over and over until it works. If you only need one sniper to take out an ENTIRE evil government, why waste time with waging war, just keep sending snipers.

It could be that they wanted to keep themselves on the morally pure side of rebellion in attempts to save lives rather than be constant kamikaze terrorists… context matters, right?

I’d say it doesn’t work because a one in a million shot would be met with a shrug from the villains, like Tarkin on the Death Star. Hux and company clearly act like it’s an existential threat once they realize what she’s doing.
Best to cut the line in TROS, since it only draws attention to the problem without fixing it.
