I will try to add some ducks… : )

Seeing Leia stand right next to one feels really fitting. Can’t wait to see it in motion!

We just need Boss Nass peaking over a bush somewhere and it’ll be perfect!

Seriously though, snooker, you absolutely rule.

make the flying ducks the same ones from Howard the Duck, if you can

If someone suggested ducks, they are a genius.

Checks whether I removed Panaka’s line about ducks from COD

Sees that I did

Poodoo. Still, mirroring or invoking the sound design heard at the Gungan sacred place would help a great deal with this idea.

But, and I’m a little reluctant to ask, shouldn’t we expect to see some gungans around this Resistance base on Naboo? Or maybe just one somewhere?

My stance on revising fan edits.

Actually, throwing one or two in the background of the base could work fine. Or what about those duck-horse things they ride?

I initially thought changing the planet to Naboo was unnecessary effort, but it might be nice. I can’t imagine not borrowing this if indeed it is fully realized.

Leia working in the shadow of her mother on her and Palpatine’s home planet. (Last seen briefly in ROTJ depending on what version you watch.)

Of course, it would be criminal not to add, “Wesa free!” to the background as the victors return to base at the end.

Yeah, I also had the thought of inserting one or two Gungans among the Resistance. You could take them from Gungan Alliance scene from TPM and put them in the background of one of the Resistance briefings.

It could be cool to swap out the head of one of the human Resistance members with a Gungan, so they could be wearing Resistance garb. Maybe you could use Jar Jar’s head, since it is a little higher quality than background Gungans, but recolor it slightly so he looks like a different Gungan.
But if they’re in the background, you could just blur them slightly to better hide the 1999-era CGI.

If you combine the ROTJ and TROS celebrations, you also could stick the Naboo shot in right before it cuts back to everyone returning to the Resistance base.

An old, grizzled Jar Jar next to Leia or Lando is what this movie needs. Full circle. From serving as a buffoon general with Padme to serving as the bombad general he grew to be with Leia. It’s like poetry.

Could turn Coruscant into another moon of Endor, or a neighbouring planet.

I know why you would want that (for RotJ) but it would destroy my suspension of disbelief to think that right next door to the galactic capital is an untouched forest world inhabited by primitive natives.

I’d actually totally be down for old grizzled Jar Jar. If possible (which I’m sure it isn’t), I’d like to see him slapsticking his way through the final battle on Exegol. But I’m one of those people who never had a problem with Jar Jar, so I guess I’m the odd one out.

I’d suggest avoiding Jar Jar in particular, even if you use him to depict someone else.

That’s fair. Because even if you tried to make it look less like Jar Jar, people would immediately think, “Is that Jar Jar??”

I think it would make it all the more interesting, “the sanctuary moon of Coruscant” a forbidden sacred forest that no one dares to enter. Really plays up the ruthlessness of the Ewoks.

JEDIT: It could also play into the ying/yang symmetry of star wars. Dark/LIGHT, Nature/Technology which would really drive home the theme of nature winning the day in ROTJ.

It breaks my suspension of disbelief that sophisticated robots and strong AI exist in this universe and yet most factions still use organic soldiers and manned fighters in combat.

That’s a problem with a lot of sci-fi. It’s just done to make the battles more personal, it’s not a big deal to me.

Is the AT-AT flying? Or reeealy long legs?

Very old image, ignore ignore ignore lol

I didn’t even consider that. All things considered, if someone went ahead and went through the pain of doing the whole scene this way, I don’t imagine changing the AT-AT into some other vehicle - especially considering how small the vehicle appears in this scene.

It is pretty difficult to get the motion tracking working on the elder head, but I’m commited to making it work!
