The Last Jedi- Full Movie Re-Edit

Hello there!

My name is Ivan and I am a professional film editor but most importantly a Star Wars fan.

So I watched TLJ and felt weird, uneasy… I didn’t know why until i came to accept the harsh reality… It is not a good movie.

So I have decided to re edit the entire movie and bring out the potential I believe it has.

Also, in asking people to donate money so he can pay himself a wage - profiting from editing other peoples work… he has potentially endangered the whole of the Fan Edit community.

There are 25 or more other TLJ Edits available listed on here - in the Star Wars Fan Edit Index - some with only minor edits made, some with substantial changes to TLJ, and some seemingly quite similar to the Edit by Ortega.

Yet all these Edits, and many hundreds more Edits on here, have managed to follow the Site Rules - and not profit from other people’s work/IP.

Ivan, you’re doing some amazing stuff with this edit. I really can’t wait to see the finished product because I think it could be fantastic. Great work, man!

How is that going to work? Is he going to have those guys dressed up as Luke and Kylo, then somehow insert them into the actual movie? That’s a helluva feat if he can pull it off and make it look realistic.

It doesn’t really work. I understand it’s not finished, but the way the scene is performed by Hamill and Daisy doesn’t support this complete change. Besides, there isn’t material to create the needed dialogues, which are by the way in total contradiction with the Luke-R2 scene (which is one of the best moments of the movie, so removing it to accomodate an idea that doesn’t work would feel very strange to me).
