One thing I always noticed in Jedi was during the Battle of Endor the pilot ‘Red 2’ is seen flying an A-wing next to Wedge’s X-wing. However the view we get from inside Red 2’s cockpit is that of a Y-wing.

Don’t know if this has been pointed out before or not. Just something that always bothered me.

I would love to see Luke with his intended blue lightsaber in this Revisited version. They only made it green because of the blue sky on tatooine.

Granted George Lucas has contradicted himself many times over the years with regards to Star Wars, so who knows what the real story is, but the one I heard was that George made the saber green in Jedi to make it clear it’s a different one to the one Luke lost on Bespin.

Then it would have been scripted like that, and there wouldn’t be trailers with a blue saber.

Well, I was curious about this, so I had a quick search and found this informative read. It might be that both reasons are true; it was changed both to stand out better against the blue sky and also to differentiate it from the one lost on Bespin: http://www.forcematerial.com/home/2016/10/23/the-real-reason-luke-skywalker-has-a-green-lightsaber

If there’s no green sky I’m going to be really disappointed.

Also, since it (somehow) hasn’t been suggested yet, adywan should recolor Luke’s lightsaber to Air Superiority Blue.

Dang! There go my hopes of it being made entirely transparent 😉

I really do like myself… I mean my genius idea that Luke’s new lightsaber is green because the Kyber crystal was salvaged from the Yavin system. IMHO

You guys do know lightsabers have hidden color switches? 😉

That explains a lot. Vader’s saber must have a broken ‘B’ and ‘G’ switch 😃

No matter how he retrieves it, that act cancels out the symbolism and meaning of him throwing it in the first place.

If he retrieved it during the battle with the Emperor, I would agree. After the battle, it makes little sense to throw away what for all we know may be the last lightsaber in existence. Being a Jedi doesn’t mean being wasteful.

I initially agreed with Ray but I think Neverar’s summation is much closer to the mark of what may have actually happened and is logically sound.

Luke throwing away his lightsaber was an act of defiance against the Emperor, it wasn’t him giving up on being a Jedi. With the Emperor dead there is no longer any need for such self sacrifice and it could be that he will need it again in the future. He did also go to the trouble of crafting it himself during his training so it would hold a lot of personal effort and sentimental value. Yes the death star was starting to catastrophically fail but it would only have taken a second for him to call it to himself with the force as he was dragging Vader towards the lift (as Nightstalkerpoet alluded to).

It’s obvious, after Vader died Luke high-tailed back to the throne room to retrieve his saber, then ran back to the landing bay to escape.
Duh.

Since Luke’s green lightsaber is one of the better elements* of ROTJ, I’d prefer it not be re-coloured blue.

*Divorced from the nonsense of the prequels, Luke’s green lightsaber signifies his individuality and distinctiveness from the Jedi who came before him.

There are REASONS some lightsabers are blue and others are green.

In the prequels? Not really. Any such “reasons” are EU retcons that have since been retconned away with the canon reset.

Ah, yes, “reasons”.

  1. Jedi use Ilum crystals, which only come in blue and green. Sith use synthetic crystals, which only come in red.
  2. Jedi sentinels use blue crystals while Jedi consulars use green.
  3. Kyber crystal colours reflect the affiliation/temperament of their users.

Blah blah blah bullshit.

Aesthetics and symbolism are the only valid reasons for any lightsaber colour.

Because like most Legends canon, it’s trying to attribute a logical reason to things Lucas randomly decided because he liked the way it looked. 1 makes some sense, which I think is what nuCanon says, but the other two are trying to establish rules that the movies themselves don’t follow. See also: Lightsaber Fighting Styles.

But none of this is relevant for this edit.

Nice. But there is still a light source that is lighting up the edge of Luke’s face for some reason from the tip of his nose to his chin.

You could attribute that to the glow off of Han’s shirt.
