Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

Lucas 60 MINUTES interview before ROTS release.

I: how worried are you that the critics are not going to like this new movie.

GL: Oh I’m not worried at all. They haven’t liked any of them really. And they specially haven’t liked the last 2, so hey it can’t get any worse [chuckles]

I: Ya but come on I mean when they go after your writing your directing it has to hurt?

GL: oh it always hurts

I: it has to hurt

GL: it hurts a great deal but part of making movies is that you get attacked and sometimes in very personal ways

I: did you not say ever to yourself well maybe they had a point with this or with that? ‘Cause you seem to be saying that they are just going after you.

GL: well they are there not there not….you know the, the point is um….it’s like a if you paint your house white and somebody comes along and that should be a green house well fine but I wanted to paint it white I don’t think there is anything wrong with painting it white I don’t think there is anything wrong with me for painting it white. Maybe it should be a green house but I didn’t want it to be a green house I want it to be a white house

Interviewer voice over [images of GL at work]: That is George Lucas he knows exactly what he wants in his movies and critics be damned he gets it.

The battle droid head is one of my favorite parts of ANHR, the first thing I saw that made me KNOW this was my kind of Special Edition.

It was a good idea but I think a Pit Droid would have been a more appropriate choice.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the Pit droid.

But honestly, the SW fanbase is broad and I say the people on this and forums like it probably make up like 5 percent or less of SW fandom. We are very ANAL-RETENTIVE people to most of the SW fan population, and insulting them does no good, it's just makes a lot of people here seem more extreme and irrational.

Remember, be nice, explain things, be reasonable, keep your anger in check, you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

The thing you must realize 95 percent of the public doesn't care and isn't obsessive compulsive about SW like many in here are. (Myself included at times). Most are just casual fans. There's the old overused "sheep" comment again. This forum and others like it, make up only a tiny percentage of overall fandom, we shouldn't get the big head and think we are better than everyone else. Calling people "sheep" because they don't sweat every detail like we do is overboard IMHO.

Reviews should not be allowed until the set is released. Amazon.com needs to overhaul their review system. They've needed to for years.

I couldn't agree with you more, even though some of these changes suck really bad, reviews should NOT be allowed until they are officially released, because you have all these people posting comments that do not even have the Set LOL.

WOW, I am agreeing with Frink again.

I disagree that reviews should not be allowed until they are officially released.  Some people get their hands on the products before they are officially released, and they should have the opportunity to review the product right then.  Also, in the case of movies, people who have already seen the movie should be allowed to review the movie's plot, etc.  If one thinks that a movie is horrible, one shouldn't have to wait to relive the garbage on DVD/BD in order to review it.

The changes for the SW BD's have been confirmed and that is enough for a lot of people to decide not to buy.  I like the fact that the set has only a 2 star rating before its official release, as some people (who haven't done their research) will wonder why it has a low rating, drill into the reviews, and find out that they too will not support George Lucas by either not ordering or cancelling their pre-order.

I do think that  DVD and Bluray releases of the same movie should have separate reviews/ratings, but that's a different story.

Yes man, but I bet you 95+ percent of those reviews have not seen the Entire blu-ray set or have it on hand.

I always presumed Yoda was supposed to look younger in the trilogy...though at his age, I suppose a lapse of 18 years or so wouldn't be very noticeable.

Keep in mind he spent that last 23 years on a swamp planet with few luxuries. Image if you lived in a swamp on meager supplies for even 3 years?
