I just like stirring the pot. You should know that by now. :p

Oh! Yeah, you’re right. :p
Don’t tell him that! Now we’ll never get rid of him.
I really didn’t expect such a backlash to a surprising and embarrassing experience. I thought it would be relatable. I don’t understand why I bothered now.
It is relatable. When people can’t comprehend basic references to things that any culturally aware person should know, I get really pissed off too.
The Person in Question
Not everybody needs to know the same things.
It’s not essential information, but a basic awareness of popular culture never hurt. I’m not even a Sinatra guy, but I know who he is and what his signature tune was.
The old joke about people who think Paul McCartney’s first band was Wings is being replaced by “Paul who?”Yeah but I’m sure you don’t know stuff that people thirty years older than you might.
Maybe? Depends on the subject. But that’s what old movies, documentaries, and history books are for. Not to mention that internet thing the kids seem to like.
I don’t need to know about Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers to enjoy Star Wars, but it deepens my enjoyment of it.
For some people these days anything prior to 2000 might as well be a hundred years ago.
Expecting a human being to make any effort to acquire even the tiniest speck of knowledge about any subject is almost completely futile.

I thought about looking this up on Google but I’m kind of tired.
A year ago today my best friend passed away. Today I’m focusing on all the great times we had. I’m lucky to have had such a good, close friend like him. For 16 years we were each others sidekick and hero. We were never shy about saying we loved one another (or shouting it across a crowded bar), and I’m very glad for that.

I feel you man. I just lost a close friend yesterday. Not my best friend, and I only got to know her really well over the past year and a bit, but damn it hurts. I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about the good times we had in my last year of high school. It’s hard to think that there won’t be any more.
Betamax is still rocking in 2017 in some corners.

The Duffer Brothers and Rian Johnson sure do know how do give us satisfying yet reserved trailers.
EDIT:
Now that things have escalated, I hope that the man in Black finds some measure of fulfillment.
Last night I sung along to “New York, New York” and no one else I was with knew what it was. I continue to be shocked at this cultural divide.
Well, you better start spreading the news…
Not to ignore what everyone else was commenting on but I just read some earlier posts. My heart goes out to you both, Ric and Ray. I’ve been there, I know how it feels.

Update: I did last week, and today one of them told me In the Wee Small Hours is one of their favorite albums now. Man, what a week… a lot has happened.

Thank you. I’ve tried to think about it as positively as I can, and that helps a lot. I got to spend time with her and say goodbye to her right before I left on holidays, and we were at a very positive point in our relationship. I made a real effort to spend time with friends this year, so I was able to get to know her, and be with her about as much as I could have. If I hadn’t made that a priority, I would be feeling a lot of regret, and that would have made this that much harder to deal with.

Awesome! You made a difference! Keep on keeping on!
Forum seems a lot less active the past few days.
It’s quiet…too quiet.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
I remember reading Jay saying that forum traffic dips in the summer and then rebounds in the fall. That’s not what I would expect, and it definitely didn’t seem that way for me last summer. Maybe this is a more typical year; after all, I’ve only been here for one.

You posted so much last summer that I imagine you skewed the stats a bit off from normal. Perhaps.
War for the Planet of the Apps would be a terrible movie.

True but there was also Fo and WansiG.
War for the Planet of the Apps would be a terrible movie.
You mean an amazing movie!

Sounds like the title for the Emoji Movie sequel.

I sometimes wonder if my fear of hell is the only thing keeping me alive.
The answer is a firm maybe.

It’s good that people get out into the fresh air and away from here once in a while. We’ll be knee deep in new people the closer we get to The Last Jedi anyway.
