Info: General Terminator 1 & 2 Discussions.
Time

this might have been answered already and i simply overlooked it, but here is my question...

will t2 feature a re-creation of the original theatrical colors?

there was some talk about, that the original live home dvd  featured the theatrical colors. after finally getting the dvd (special thanks to jonno), i can confirm it doesn't have the original colors. the dvd already features the more blueish colors, introduced with the special edition laserdisc.

on the plus side, said dvd features the original theatrical cds 5.1 mix, which was confirmed by dvdmike.

Robocop - Director's Cut 1080p restoration (Released)
Time

i can provide the cc-ld audio.

i had a similar project in mind. but i wanted to drop the bd audio in favor for the cc-ld audio.  for main part of "restoring" the movie i wanted to use the sony bd and just use the mgm dc bd for the extra footage. maybe andrea can also jump in to re-create the look of the criterion edition.

getting the pcm for theatrical cut would be sweet as well, so it can be used for the sony bd.

as for hd trailers, good luck. there is only the one trailer available in hd. i don't know which one it was, but i know for sure it was only one hd trailer available. i have it somewhere. if not, you may want to ask bendermac. he certainly has it.

Help: looking for... Return of The Living Dead Part II
Time

hauppauge hd-pvr cannot record in 1080p. 1080i60 is the best it can do. so the final capture would 1080 @ 29.97fps.

i highly recommend only to use constant bitrate or your video will look like shit.

i wonder if i can capture through my ps3 using the intensity with component cable. does vudu need any proxies if you're not living in the u.s.?

Info & Idea: I finally got it :D - 'The Little Mermaid' (1990 laserdisc)
Time

okay, nothing that uber special. but i was looking for it for quite some time now.

what am i talking about? well, the 1990 laserdisc of the little mermaid. now i have the 1998 thx ld + limited issue dvd and 1990 ld to create the best remux for this beloved movie. well, i still have to wait for the replacement blu-ray from disney, that fixes the stupid changes.

bd remux would include

1. original 1989 theatrical surround mix in pcm
2. original 1998 re-release surround mix in pcm
3. original 1998 re-release surround mix in dolby digital 5.1
4. 2013 7.1 remix in dts-hd master audio

5. 2006 home theater enhanced remix in dolby digital 5.1 - are you kidding me? get the f*** out of here!

sounds good?

Man...this and RoTLD 3 are at the top of my list for most wanted horror BDs right now.  <snip>

I would love to see Team Blu tackle this one and Part 3 when their tight project list opens up a bit.  Here's hoping....

part 3 in hd is only available in the r-rated cut. the uncut version is only available on dvd & laserdisc. please, don't mention the horrendous german bd. yes, it's uncut, but the quality is below everything. it looks a 480x360 lowbitrate xvid upconversion to 1080p *yikes*

Info Wanted: Bullet in the Head, The Killer, Hard Boiled - German LD Audio Preservation - any interest?
Time

today i rented these 3 movies from a friend and i wondered if there is any interest in capturing the audio.

the laserdisc contain the following mono audio tracks

bullet in the head

german and cantonese audio

the killer

german and english audio

hard boiled

german audio

they are possibly the only chance to get the original german mono mixes, as everything else seam to be in 5.1 or 7.1 upmixes.

So where is this The Black Hole HD file? I have been wanting to do a BD of this forever! I friggin love watching this movie and have a real nice Intrada 24 track CD I just got, could make for a nice score.

I have the 1080p/24 copy that Jonno mentioned from itunes but it sounds like zeropc has a different (hopefully less compressed) copy. The itunes one is about 3.88 GB.

there are two releases...

the hd cap i have + a vudu hdx recording, which i can get if needed. i don't know which release is the better. but having all three (hulu, hd-cap, itunes) might be good.

You can really appreciate this when viewing Team Blu's bonus content that compares the 2 side by side in real time, a nice 10 minute flow showing just how bad Twilight Time's is and just how good and balanced Team Blu's is.

don't call it bad! the work done by twillight time was actually pretty good. the only thing to criticize, is the total misunderstanding on how the movie should look.  if you had not idea how the previous releases looked or didn't read any of the raffle of this transfer, you can consider this a well done bd. heck, there are even people who prefer this look over the original theatrical presentation.

that being said: kudos to team-blue for making this release. the extras are pretty neat - i like the q&a with tom savinii) and on top we can to listen to the original theatrical mix.

thanks guys :)
