Because there's no SW Kinect game coming out on PS3?
Because there's no SW Kinect game coming out on PS3?

But sir, the odds of surviving a direct attack on a level 26 thug at level 14 are 3,720 to 1!
Yup. Part protest and part just not worth that cost to me.
I used to pay $16 a month for 3 discs at a time with streaming. I decided it wasn't worth it to me, so I dropped it down to 1 disc + stream for $10. So 1 disc + stream for $16 definitely isn't worth it.
Last fall we took a break from Netflix for "a month" because we were so busy. That month became 2, became 6... and I can't say I missed it that much. It was nice to focus on something other than rapidly processing netflix.
And, finally, some thoughts of my own:
So, I felt like I finally had to watch Transformers 2. All of the TVs at Walmart were playing the "forrest fight scene" over and over again and I thought it looked pretty cool. I knew it was terrible, but I figured everyone else got to see it and pronounce it terrible, that I should as well.
Here are some random thoughts:
Okay, I think that does it. I had to play "cut the rope" on my phone just to feel like I wasn't completely wasting my time.
My thoughts on everyone else's thoughts:

Batman The Animated Series Volume Four.
Why couldn't this series keep going?? :(
Didn't care for The New Batman Adventures personally, the redesigns were a turn-off. Not the new designs for characters, but the entire art look
Agreed. Loved everything up to the redesign. After the redesign- mixed feelings. Don't like the look. The cursing ramped up, which is a concern for me as a parent of young Batman fans. But some good episodes.

Sunshine in HD. Amazing. 10/10 Suns until the final act.
Oooh.... anyone care to tell me when the final act starts?

agreed, it goes from a 4 ball movie to a 1 ball movie at the drop of a hat.
I disagree. Sure, the ending is a little weird. But I dug it. This is the movie I come back to when people say Chris Evans can't be serious.
Ziggy Stardust:
Adaptation. Talk about a misleading trailer!
9/10
Forgive me for playing the age card, Ziggy... but can you really appreciate this movie at 13? It's one of my favourites, but I can't imagine really having any of the life experience at 13 that forms the foundation of my own attraction to it.
C3PX:X-Files: I Want to Believe
I actually really enjoyed it. For some reason I didn't think much of it when I saw it just after it came out.
Last time I saw it I hadn't seen past season six of the TV series, so it was nice knowing more about the context of Mulder and Scully's situation this time through.
Crap. Are you telling me I'll have to watch it again and that I might actually like it if/when I watch the T-1000 seasons?
oh-oh-five:HP7P2
I'm impressed they managed to bring a traditional movie out of the last act of the book.
Oooh.... anyone care to tell me when the last act starts?

Episodes have been available on Netflix Streaming most of the month. Gotta watch them now since we're cancelling in Aug.
So, we started "Where No Man..." but it was boring me, so I immediately switched to "Shore Leave" which all of us (my younger girls were also watching) enjoyed. My wife happened to only watch the last 5 minutes, you remember? When McCoy shows up with the burlesque bunnies? In the, er... feathers? (How did this ever pass censors?) My daughter says, "I like the pink one!" I say "I do, too!" And I got my fair share of dirty looks from my wife. Not that kind of dirty, the kind where I'm in trouble. Not that kind of trouble... well, actually yes. That kind of trouble.
*ahem*
We started "Space Seed", which only my son and I watched. But sadly didn't get to finish it before the wife and the kids went to play with cousins for the weekend.

I love that there is a portal gun in that picture.
Ah, but can you ID all of them?
(I can't, but I bet we could.)

Yojimbo (1961), A Fistful of Dollars (1964), Last Man Standing (1996)
So "Last Man Standing" is a remake of "Yojimbo," which had an uncredited remake in "Fistful" and is itself an uncredited adaption of the novel "Red Harvest" which has to be unique in all novels as having three adaptations, none of them official.
I hope someday "Red Harvest" gets made and everyone says "This movie is a rip of of 'Last Man Standing!'"
EDIT
Even kookier, but I haven't seen it, supposedly Yojimbo was also remade as The Warrior and the Sorceress with David Carradine.
As in "Fantastic Four is just a rip-off of the Incredibles?" Too bad FF wasn't the better film. :/

Anyway, I saw a guy up in Wyoming on a bicycle who looked like Xhonzi.
I wonder if...
Oh crap! IS that WHERE I left my bicycle?
Very nice. Thanks for posting.
Out of disrespect for Nanner, I decided to put my thoughts back in this thread instead of the video game thread.
C3PX- have you seen the Behind the Scenes DVD that came with the Limited Edition of BS1? Is it something I should track down?

The Matrix would have had more of an influence on pop-culture than the prequels, except for one small* thing:
They sucked.
Totally agreed, Olie. Totally agreed.
Pronoun fail?
And why is everyone getting along with 2/4 so well in this thread? Actually, I don't care why, JUST STOP IT.
It's weirding me out.
As Frink said- just a "Movies Besides Star Wars Discussion" forum. So it's not part of the insanity of Off Topic.
Ah, I see.
Why do I never put things where I'll be able to find them again?
Sometimes, within seconds of last using the TV remote, I have such little idea where it is that it takes me full-on minutes to find it again.
I think the last subconscious thought to go through my brain is- "Well, I'll never need this thing again!" *wub-wub-wub-sound-as-it-soars-over-my-shoulder-into-the-ether"

I agree about Borderlands, it falls short of greatness, but is extremely good for all its flaws and repetitiveness. If you play with friends it is some of the most fun you can have co-oping or split-screening.
Not sure where Xhonzi is, but to continue with more Bioshock BS: I am really enjoying Rapture so far. Haven't been able to read as much as I'd like since I got it, only about 1/4th of the way through.
I was actually just dropping in to see if you had gotten it yet. I'm glad you're digging it. Whenever I get around to reading it- I will let you know how I find it.
Alright, I just ordered it from gohastings.com. I paid a little more than I would have liked, but I would like to read it now instead of 5 years from now.

I tried Borderlands SP and it was really boring. I'm sure it would have been better MP.
Speaking of MP, tried AC:Bro MP yesterday. Nothing like people who haven't stopped playing it having abilities to make it impossible to stop killing you even when you like the computer control your movements like an NPC.
Do not want.
Yeah, I had to look for people that were more my level to have any fun. And I just had to accept that I would have a low KD ratio when playing with some old timers. You'll have to look back in this thread for the rest of my thoughts. I'd try to reproduce them here, but it would be lies.
Other than that, how do you like Brotherhood so far?
I think ACB's plot ended up being the easiest to follow of the three. I never could keep track of all of the people I was killing before. I just sort of stabbed them in the necks and got on with my day.

Well, I'm off to start my binge on FallOut 3. Maybe.
Although I really wanted to have a copy of Castlevania Lords of Shadow for this weekend. :/
NO, WONG. Bad xhonzi, bad!
Insert pic of xhonzi's head hung in shame.
No, maybes, Xhonzi! This is your time to tackle the experience that is Fallout 3. It is my second favorite game I've played on the Xbox, next to Bioshock. I might have to put you on ignore if you haven't found yourself at least significantly immersed in that game by the time your binge is over.
Okay, okay... I get it. I'll get to it. You know, when I get home.

More Bioshock bullshit.

That's pretty sweet. The controller I think could be better, but the wire-midriff is cool.
Do you think some nicely printed decals and a stick of glue could satisfy your lust, 005?
CP3S said:
I agree with that too. I actually never really played it alone, but I can't imagine it being much fun. It is the shared experience that made the game for me.
I quite enjoy it co-op. I constantly hear how it's not as fun in SP, but I don't know why that would be. The fun I have in co-op seems like it would translate to SP well... but I have never really tried to figure it out.
