Fine, have the co-pilot lean out the cockpit and throw a grenade at it.  I mean, Luke had one on his belt, right?  (The same belt he wore in the bacta tank?)

Or just add a bomb to the air speeders.

That would look kinda pooey, then insult my visual understanding of the scene..

Yes, it would look terrible.  That's why I was joking when I said it.

Incom T-47 speeders are not equiped with bombs. Thus I suggested the Rebel ground troops running towards the crash with a portable concussion missle launcher with a combined attacked from the snowspeeders.

Yeah, I'm afraid I don't really care what the minutia of the EU has to say about everything.  The fact is that the movie, as filmed, shows snowspeeders using blasters to blow up armor that's "too strong for blasters."  So, yes, you could shoot a completely new scene with ground troops running toward the thing with missile launchers (which probably are also new to the contintuity of the scene) or you could add a bomb or two to the snowspeeders and mostly keep the scene as is.  As you said, the rebels modified the snowspeeders for use on Hoth... who's to say that they didn't add some heavier ordinance to them while they were at it.  If Luke can carry an AT-AT destroying grenade on his belt, surely the light speeders can carry a couple bombs/missiles/grenades capable of the same feat.

Apparently Ady doesn't plan to do anything with the scene, but wouldn't a simple change to the ordinance fired by the snowspeeders be a lot more in line with the subtle changes than filming an entirely new scene?

This sort of thing does happen.

It's rare but not that rare.

The thing that makes it seem so rubbish in ROTJ is the tone of the film which is all over the place (setting the scene for the PT later).

Comedy Ewoks, comedy droid torture, burp jokes, puppet/CGI song and dance numbers etc, etc mixed in with accidental near incest, father Vs son limb slicing action revisited, giant Vagina dentata and the implication that Jabba does slave girls (check out the tongue action).

Sort out the tone of ROTJ and the Luke/Leia thing makes sense (there are clues to this being possible retroactively evident in ESB).

It's certainly less weird than a romantic scene between a really little boy and early teen girl.

George hasn't made his mind up if these films are meant to be for little kids or really warped teenagers and adults.

So he mixes it so it's not really hitting the mark for either.

He must have hit pretty close to mark, to get us all riled up like that.

ka-ching!

Video Games - a general discussion thread
Time

We have friends that think Lego RB is the best RB yet.  We picked up the disc like you did: $20+10 to add 45 (at least 20 I would have paid $2/per for) to my RB2 setlist.  We haven't played too too much RB recently, but the little we've played hasn't been Lego.  I wanted to get some of the Nickelback songs that just came out (yes, I am that guy) but I'll probably wait until I know we're actually going to play some more RB.  It seems I spend more time buying songs for it these days than actually playing it.  :(

We dug the Lego Harry Potter demo, but I think I can wait for 6 months for it to be cheap.  My kids aren't too much into HP yet, so it's probably one I'll get actually for the wife and me to play.  We played Lego:SW 1&2 together to 100%, but neither she nor I have played Indy or Batman much aside from every so often with our son.

I tried Prototype for about an hour.  It's cured me of the desire to play more of it.  Lots of extremely gorey violence and loads of F-bombs.  And, to make matters worse!  It's not really fun.

I just picked up Darksiders for ~$8 using a combination of internet coupons and some "credit" I had at Gamestop.com.  It was $10 towards next purchase credit I got when I bought Warioland Shake it for $10, which was actually $0 since I used the $10 credit I got for the game I got just before that.

I'm really into Castlevania SotN right now.  It took an hour or so into the game before I really started digging it... but I'm totally into it now.

Next is Batman: AA.  I traded my old version for the new version with anaglyph 3D and made $4 in the process.  Then I'll hit Darksiders so I can have a Mark Hamill double feature.

And I spent a couple hours in BioShock 2 MP again.  I got up to level 11.  After level 10, the XP curve seems to go way up.  Where-as before I was gaining a level appx every other 15 minute session, it seems I have to play 4 or so now.  Not sure I'll make it all the way to 40, though I did want to max out the 'chievos on this game.  But I'm not sure I'll pick up the DLC for the other 150 pts.  Maybe if it ever goes on sale.

I didn't snag the ACII DLC either.  The reviews I read were rather poor.  If it goes on sale, I'm sure I'll snag it then.  And then I'll either need to pick up my own copy or borrow it from my bud again.

Chime, which is still on sale for 240, is pretty awesome.  I got my wife into that, recently.  According to one review, it "Out Tetrises Tetris" so I decided to check it out.  I'm more into "real" games than these goofy "little" games, but this one is really good.  Very addictive.

RE: Red Dead.  I'm not into Rockstar games, and I'm not that interested in Westerns.  I do like free-roaming games.  Is Red Dead still for me?
