_______ shows their Star Wars DVD Collection

I respectfully disagree, or at least want to offer up a point.  There was always family history between Luke and Vader.  in 1977, Vader was friends with and then killed Luke's dad.  In 1980, it was changed that he was Luke's dad.  It's not like they went from having no relationship to being father and son.  There was always a connection between the hero and the villain, which is very typical of these hero myths in the first place.

HALF-LIFE 2 - Episode Three

Oh, yeah!  HL2:E3, how could I forget?!?  Also, these others are the films I'm most excited for coming up.

And, one or two I meant for my original post:

Jedi Academy Remake of the Original Dark Forces: http://darkforces.jediknight.net/index2.shtml  A posting from a month or two ago makes it sound like this might actually start seeing light of day soon.  It's a nice uprezzed trip down memory lane.

Chronicles of Riddick 2: The Somethingorother - I must have been one of the only people who liked Chronicles of Riddick and wanted to see a direct sequel instead of a return to Pitch Black.  I liked PB well enough, but I preferred the grandness of the universe in CoR.  At any rate, here's to hoping the sequel, if it actually gets made, is somewhat good!

Prince of Persia: I liked this well enough.  It seemed really popular to dump on it 6 months ago, but maybe it's been long enough that people can just enjoy it now.  It doesn't follow the plot of the game(s) very closely, but as a big fan of the games, I was still pretty happy with it.  I don't think the game plot would adapt very well to a full length feature.  Not that there's anything wrong with it- it's a very good setup for a game.

I found the backhanded compliment "It's pretty good! For being based on a video game, that is. <knowing smirk>."  And, "Well, it's the best video game based movie ever, but that's not saying much. </superiority>"  I thought it was decent enough, videogame adaptation or no.  My wife enjoyed it two for what it's worth.

BD from RedBox for $1.50.  Might pick up the BD for $10-$15 in a couple months.

Video Games - a general discussion thread

Yay!  I foundy my CDs (and Keys) for Blue Shift and Half Life 1 and they both work and unlocked the mega-pak.  I played Half Life 1, Opposing Force, and Blue Shift (to completion(the original twice!)- and no cheating!) way back when but I've never touched the other ones.  Ricochet?  Day of Defeat?  Are these any good?

Thanks, DarkGryphon, for the heads up!

I suppose you can (and will) take this many ways, but I'm thinking like a red blooded American Consumer this morning.

Here are some things I'm waiting to buy/rent/whathaveyou:

Black Mesa - Remake of HL1 in HL2+ engine
Han Solo Adventures - Old School LucasArts Adventure game starring everyone's favourite lovable rogue
1080p 120hz Projector @ ~$2k - You'll all hate me, but I've been thinking of replacing my 720p PJ for a couple of years and I want 3D bashdaggit!

~and~

ESB:R - Of course!
