The Fifth Element.

I love this movie.

Great effects, acting, story, EVERYTHING! I love it. Almost perfect in my eyes.

Agreed 100%

Oh and the most recent movie(s) I have seen are Tron and Tron Legacy.

Tron was very primitive (shows us how much we've progressed in terms of CGI), hated it the first time I watched it but loved it the second. Still, Tron grows on you and Jeff Bridges is awesome. It was a milestone of cinema: one of the pioneers of CGI.

Tron Legacy was cheesy, probably the start of a big franchise. Still, I enjoyed it. It was a good popcorn flick and good enough to make me see it again in IMAX 3D. Of course, the effects were good, and the story wasn't too bad. All in all, a relatively worthy (though somewhat disconnected) sequel to Tron. I doubt that 3 will be as good.

I was just thinking how I was on furlough from OT.com when I saw Tr2n- therefore I never discussed it here.  I actually really liked it.  I have no idea where the "no story" people come from.  I thought it had story in spades.

I find I appreciate Tron much more now as an adult than I did as a kid.  It's perhaps 1 part nostalgia and 1 part knowing a lot more about computers than I really did at the time.

NO ONE CARES WHO'S ON YOUR IGNORE LIST.

If this were true, there wouldn't be a lengthy off-topic thread on the subject.  Anyway, I always interpreted ignore announcements as a polite way to say "this guy is acting like a dick."

I care.

Dang, you beat me to it.

Who's ignore list are we talking about now?

Who is an ignore list, now?  Or did you mean Whose ignore list...?

IGNORE!

BRILLIANT!!!

Yes, thank you twister.  I think.  Maybe I should have just considered it a mixed blessing.  ;)

Shields?
Time

Are there shields in Star Wars?  It certainly seems so.  But it seems, according to the movies, that no fighter craft actually have them, right?

I know X-Wing the game "canonized" the "X-Wings have shields, TIEs don't"  (Because sometimes you feel like a shield- sometimes you don't.)

Han Solo likes to "angle his deflector shields" right?  So I presume the MF has shields.  Is it the smallest thing in the OT to have shields?

How would YOU re-do the prequels?
Time

Welcome to the site, Matt.

Hope you expand your ideas and can get back to us.

Just one reminder:

so that means we would start more than 32 years before ANH

Remember that Luke/Leia are appx 18 when ANH starts.  So, unless biology is different in the Star Wars universe, starting 32 years before ANH means you'll probably have to end around 19 years before ANH.  Does your story cover 13 years?  If not, you may want to adjust your times and ages to accomodate.

no Binks (although I do like him),

And I'm going to pretend I didn't read that so I don't have to hold that against you.  ;)

I see xhonzi has entered the thread again....

*rubbing hands together*

Wow, to take a weekend off and then to come back to all of this.

My only question is this: Why is this so personal to you, twooffour?  You seem to be very upset about.  I've read your other posts around the forum and you seem to mostly be a pretty sensible guy.  Why does this subject (Raising my kids in a PT free environment) elicit such angst from you?

For the record, if I hadn't been reading and enjoying a lot of whatelse you'd have to say, your conduct in this thread would cause me to put you on ignore.  You seem to be very... bothersome.

Wait, have you seen Inception?
