I was paying £25 per month for an up to 8mb connection when it was supposed to be an unlimited usage connection until they changed it. You can get up to 24mb broadband now for around £6.99 per month if you take the providers phone package too, but you only get the cheaper faster service if you phone exchange has been enabled. If it hasn't then you are stuck with the slower more expensive providors
Thanks, Adywan.
Okay, so with the current exchange rate, 25 quid is $40.61 in US dollars. Six pounds ninety-nine would actually be just about exactly one third of what I pay, and 24mb is definitely faster. So looks like Ghostbuster is not only right, but spot on with the one third thing, at least for some parts of the UK.
You forgot to convert British mbaud to American mbaud. They only have 7 and 1/3 bits in their bytes, so it's roughly a 1.6:1 ratio. Also, the distances are actually longer since they use KM in lieu of miles, so you have to factor that in as well.
By my math, that means that their 24mb is actually the same as our -5.4mb. Assuming that they're still using imperial seconds, that is.

Another thing to try, is using the PS3 (if you have one) to upscale it. There are also some video options on the PS3 to make the picture fit to 16:9 and remove some noise. It's not perfect but it's very easy to do and doesn't look as bad as the way some DVD players upscale. :-)
I've never figured out how to make my PS3 zoom in on a windowboxed (Letterbox 4x3 in a 16x9) image. Stupid non-anamorphic DVDs...
If you can tell me how to do this... I'll let you into the secret OT.com forum Illuminati clique.
Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn roooooooooooof.
Rusted.
I'd say post it there (writing forum). Unfortunately, that forum doesn't get a lot of serious traffic. But I'd recommend posting it there and then putting a link to it in your sig, so anyone who's interested would know where to go.
A man's soul may benefit from some meaningless entertainment...
But a man's soul truly benefits from knowing he's done a good day's work, right?
The worst thing about never doing any work: you can never take a break (and play your xbox 360 with friends online).

While we are at it, lets close down Walmart, too.
Hells yeah! Free markets be DAMNED!!! WOoOOOOOOoOOOO!!!
Wal-Mart sucks ass! I absolutely HATE getting things cheaper and being able to have my oil changed while I wait for a prescription while I shop for groceries, a new pair of work boots, shampoo, tools, light bulbs, the latest DVD I wanted to buy, and anything else I might need all in one stop. Saves way too much time! Who the hell wants to get an entire days worth of errands done in the course of an hour giving them more time to spend doing what they want with their extra free time while wasting less increasingly expensive gas driving all over town in the process? Ridiculous! Lets close that bitch DOWN! YEAH!
That's why no one else shops there and they don't make any money.
But there really isn't anything stopping him from getting a job and buying one himself, right? Wouldn't an xbox only continue to discourage him from finding a job?

I do rather like North by Northwest, it has everything I like in a movie: intrigue, solid performances from every actor, and a director's cameo. It's Hitchcock exploring past his niche, while still using the techniques everyone loves in his other movies. Look to it, I charge you.
It truly is one our best films ever.

I wish the "broken moon rains down on metropolis" stuff wouldn't have been cut. That sounded rad. I guess the timing of 9/11 sort of killed it.
That stuff wasn't cut... there's a scene where he stops the machine a few years after visiting the NY Library in which the moon is raining down in pieces and the city is totally destroyed and in flames. It's an awesome scene!
EDIT: I found this short clip from that scene on YouTube. The quality sucks, but it shows the moon cracking.
I should have said, "The end of that scene was cut." I think there's an animatic or something on the DVD that shows how the actual destruction scene would have gone.
wiki says:
A scene that was scripted, but abandoned as it was considered inappropriate in light of the then recent events of September 11, 2001, was to have shown sections of the shattered moon crashing into the futuristic skyscrapers of 2037 New York City. This led to a 3 month delay of the film's theatrical release.
If you're in the cabal, I'd say you don't have to worry.
^ I love the first 20 minutes or so of that movie. It totally sucks (to me) once he meets the eloi. I wish the "broken moon rains down on metropolis" stuff wouldn't have been cut. That sounded rad. I guess the timing of 9/11 sort of killed it.
I did, however, really like the ubermorlock's theory on why he couldn't change time. I don't think I've heard/seen that one anywhere else before.

Whether or not you are VINH really doesn't concern me anymore. I've let it go.
Maybe because you quickly understood how stupid you were being in the first place, for the reasons just named ;)
Yeah...no.
VINH could spell 'yeah' correctly. So I know 2/4 is not VINH. Unless he knew that I would know and so he changed his tells.

As for subtitles I have to suggestions.
1 use an LG TV with the ability to move the frame up so there is a big black bar at the bottom for the subtitles and a little black bar at the top
2 . Memorize all of Greedo ’s and Jabba ‘s lines.
Do you actually need the subtitles any more? LOL
With risk of sounding like a smartass, haven't people memorized these films completely? maybe we don't need their soundtrack either?
Or the picture! I just close my eyes and watch the movie for a few hours at my desk at work every day. I don't get in trouble for watching a movie at work because people just think I'm sleeping. ;-)
Which version do you watch? How's the PQ? are the colars fixd?
Yes, I'm in for the full six-film set. (46%, 243 Votes) Not until Lucasfilm restores the original, unaltered versions of the first trilogy. (25%, 131 Votes) I'll buy them, but I won't be happy about it. (11%, 58 Votes) Only the original trilogy (Episodes IV - VI) for me. (9%, 45 Votes) I won't buy any of them. (8%, 40 Votes) Only the prequel trilogy (Episodes I - III) for me. (1%, 4 Votes) I'm waiting for the 3D conversions. (0%, 4 Votes)
Down to 46% and up to 25%.
Just keep on rocking it, baby.
