Rikter - not true about the price. You just have to do the rebate wait. You can get a good digital camera and the ip3000.

Current deal if you can find it: Canon a400 + IP3000 for $54.98 AR

Fatwallet explaination

I got an ip5000 Free after rebate with directions from fatwallet.

The Trays are hard to get. Going for $30 on ebay.

5 easy steps to change the eprom and you are ready to print dvds with the north american version. All other canon printers outside of the americas have dvd printing enabled.

The canon european versions have cdr printing capabilities fully enabled.

But so do the americas versions with a 5 minute change to the eprom. Just press a few buttons and boom you are ready to print. The only draw back is the cd tray and the flip up door with alignment rollers that are included with the euro versions.

I am working on a pipeline for the trays. I hope to have 30 or so tray available in the next couple of weeks.

The door is a whole other problem all together. I have tried to get some but they are on back order from canon. 16 weeks lead time.

Due to all the hoops that we americans have to jump through to get the parts, overseas shipping and such the trays run $30 and the door another $20- 30 on ebay.

I use canon printer for my cd/dvds.

They are really cheap right now since canon is about to debut the next generation.

Canon disabled cdr printing in the north american versions but some brilliant people on another website figured out the eprom setting and now it works. The hard part is getting the original canon cdr tray (I am working on getting some for next week). You can also make your own tray or convert an epson tray. The ink is cheap compared to epson and the ink tanks do not have any chip tech so using refillable ink systems are a snap.

Here is the website: 5 easy steps to get your canon to print dvds

I got my ip5000 FAR. Canon has a promotion for $70 rebate if you purchased a computer, digital camera or Dv camcorder recently.

Here is a link to those promotions: Canon printer promotions

Check out fatwallet for the best deals.

But if you just want straight out of the box dvd printing I would also recommend the epson r200.

Here is a good comparison of 8 popular inkjets: Inkjet review linky

If you need any more help, just ask.

<strong>The Cowclops Transfers (a.k.a. the PCM audio DVD's, Row47 set) Info and Feedback Thread</strong> (Released)

Now we are getting somewhere...

I think that summary should be the second post of any new release thread. The first post is the basic explanation, setting up the discussion about the project. The second post should be a bullet pointed summary like the sample above. It would travel with the topic and there would not be a need for a sticky. This also would allow us to talk about the original post and the tangents that arise during that topic discussion freely without messing up the vital info.

Is there a way to automatically insert a space for the summary in the forum software?

This is looking really useful and will save us all a lot of time from yelling at people who don't want to read for eight straight hours.

No worries, Mavimao. Sorry if my post looked like an ad. This thread is really confusing for most who have not been following it.

My suggestion still stands. Check out my previous post on page 22. That website has this problem down. First the original post then a summary that is editable as more info is provided. I would suggest the ops here to check it out for some ideas.

Hey Mavimao - Did you even read over the page you just posted on?

We were discussing the problem of disc specs being spread around the 22 pages and the need for a summary page so others don't keep asking the same questions over and over.

The least you could is scan up 5 posts and start reading before you start throwing down the "banned" gauntlet.

I have now included the previous post in mine for the ocularly challenged.

I have another question for you guys about hard to find cult b-movies:

Blood of Heroes (US Release) or Salute of the Jugger (Foreign release)

I have only been able to find one copy. The transfer is bad, sound is worse and it is full screen.

I am wondering if the Foreign releases might be in widescreen and better.

I await an answer from the big brains...

PS - I could also use some dvd cover art in hi-res

Just kidding. I understand what everyone is saying regarding the information being available if you look for it, but that's kind of the problem in and of itself - if you want to know one little thing, sometimes it could take an hour or more to find it buried among the threads, if it is there at all. That's why people ask. Yes it gets redundant, but that's the nature of having your project information hosted in small bits across an entire thread rather than in one concise list. Maybe someone needs to make a special thread or site that sums up just about every question that could possibly be asked (within reason) about every set - that would clear up a lot of the repetitive questioning. Rikter has a lot of the disc technical information compiled, for example, but there is a lack of clear explanation (overall, not just this set) in regards to menu setup, bonus features, easter eggs, transfer process description, menu pics, etc...

Also, it is kind of frustrating for "choosy shoppers" to have only been able to see a small handful of screenshots. Me personally, I wish I knew whether the menus have changed since the original preliminary versions were posted here a few months back. Not trying to be an ass about this at all, either - I've been watching this thread for quite some time and been an active poster the last few months - I've read several project threads start to finish, and there is a lot of junk to weed through to find the important things (which is often relative), if they are there at all.

I'd be happy to work on making an "explanatory" thread if anyone else is interested.

And I still don't know if each transfer project does a different setup for the LD bonus disc!

I am a member of another board that used to run into just this kind of problem. They have implemented a summary system into the message board. I don't know the technicalities of the system but it works good.

You can check it out www.fatwallet.com.

Here is a really good thread that shows what I am talking about: Fatwallet sample

Over 90 pages and all of it is summarized in the second post which is updated progressively throughout the discussion.

It is just a sample of one way we could do it on this board...

I would love to get the extended editon of dune! They have shown it on the sci-fi channel a couple of years ago.

But fullscreen kills it for me. If it is not widescreen then it is not really worth it. Unless it was only released in fullscreen.

I have heard there is a deluxe edition of flash gordon movie from the 1980's released overseas. I wonder what extras are on that. Anyone know?

OT: I need help figuring out how to re-author a dvd...details inside
Time
I know this is off topic but you guys/girls are the most knowledgeable group on the net!

So here goes:

I have a bittorrent VIDEO_TS file of an old 60's cartoon (Space Ghost) from myspleen. The quality is quite good but my only complaint is that all of the episodes are out of release order. I would love to rearrange the episodes to the original release date and reseed it.

I am a total newbie, so I don't know where to start. Also I am on a mac, so please advise accordingly.

TIA
