I am declaring my interest in participating in some sort of MacGaffer Group kind of discussion. Even if I don't cut the mustard on air, I'd like to at least be a key grip, or best boy, or second assistant to the associate producer. Anything. I've been telling people for years that I'm "in the industry", so I'd like to show them something more widely viewed than my super-8 stop motion videos of He-Man and She-ra action figure adventures. I agree with you, Frink. As everyone knows, I've been working on a minimalist, coming-of-age, one-act play called Savannah, a tale of a young woman's conflict between her love of her native Georgia and her strong dislike of some of the antiquated beliefs of its people. Here's a portion of the play which shows how YESTERDAY WAS A LIE featuring PETER MAYHEW coming soon to DVD! has seeped into my writer's voice:

SAVANNAH: It's in me, Drake. This place, this land, the air, the hills, the clay - it's in my name, Drake. And wherever I go, people can see it. I can leave Savannah, but it will never leave me.

DRAKE: You say that like it's a bad thing.

SAVANNAH: If I leave here - if I go to Los Angeles and follow my dream, they won't see the fire in my eyes. They won't see that I'm a woman of passions, a woman who cares. All they'll see is the shameful past, the stain that marrs our yesterday.

DRAKE: Savannah, YESTERDAY WAS A LIE featuring PETER MAYHEW coming soon to DVD!

And you're probably thinking, "Why not just stop at 'Yesterday was a lie'?" I mean, sure, I could do that - but that's tantamount to saying, "I don't know the first thing about quality writing, like they do at YESTERDAY WAS A LIE featuring PETER MAYHEW coming soon to DVD!"

1) Possibly. I just thought it would be significant if one island kept all the evil at bay and the other island was the counterpart to the first. Like EIG and Jacob.

2) "Dogma"? I didn't see it that way. I don't think he'd undo all of existence - just that of the Losties. What would happen to the rest of the world still isn't clear to me, but I guess EIG would rule it and it would suck.

3) Alternative universe parallel. Echoes the idea that you can't correct the course of time - things happen at different times in different universes but things that were supposed to happen happen.

5) Seems to be nothing more than a plot point - blow to the head caused the aphasia (sp?), can't speak english, going to make things difficult in the final episodes.
