The official DVDs are anamorphic. If you are referring to the next set due out in September that will include the OOT in a non-anamorphic LD transfer as a "bonus" feature, yes you can get rid of the black bars but all you are doing is streching out an already low resolution image....which will make it look worse on most tv screens....

edit: Oh ....I get it now...Are you thinking about trying to match up both releases and combine the footage? Good Idea, but OCPMOVIE already has done something similar to that and it was OK....you could really tell where the poorer footage was, so in the end it was kind of distracting....

How do you enjoy this if it won't ever be shared? I thought the general concenses was that this project would never be sold or shared with anybody and that it was more to share the techniques involved.

Thank you for the quick response. Yes, I think it would be wonderful to use the X0 you guys have access to to restore other lost films that are in need of restoration.....

However, maybe I wasn't clear in my questioning...what I really wanted clarification on was your statement, "We are going to do our absolute best to get ANH done by then. This thread may not be open to discussion anymore after that." That sounds like to me that the X0 releases of ESB and ROTJ would be left out and not finished....is that true? If the X0 ANH is finished as the official DVDs are released how could the other two movies in the triliogy be worked on and finished if this thread and the X0 project get locked down?

My apologies if I still haven't made my concerns clear enough yet.......getting my thoughts down in the written word is difficult for me sometimes....

May I ask why? Isn't this thread about the entire X0 project and not just ANH? What about the remaining two movies......

Even if the project and the X0 website are forced underground why then would the discussion about it have to be as well? Is it illegal to discuss something?

Please understand I'm not trying to sound like a smart a$$, I'm just a little freaked by your statment and I am doing my best to make sense of it.

Stop wasting time posting on here and get back to work on those transfers...............(as I post this humorous reply that was done completely in jest , the sound of thousands of OOT X0 Project hopefuls snap their whips in unison on MeBeJedi's backside, he yelps and gets back to work...........) *Snap* *Wicchh*

I called SephirothTNH an "embasile" and of course its, "imbasile"....anyway like SephirothTNH said, water under the bridge....

I just didn't like the attacks on the X0 project and couldn't stand by anymore while OCP and others took their shots....

and like I said before, I can't wait untill the X0 DVDs are out....may your coffee mug, ( or diet coke can ) never run dry MeBeJedi...

...pump the caffine hard and kick some ass on those transfers....LOL

Ah, thank you...yeah I now know what I did....I ASSUMED that that link was the same as the sticky XO thread that of course was locked.

It's cool. I knew that I was opening myself wide open for someones venom....no big deal though. It is a privilage to be here and to benifit from

everybody's hard work...including the XO project team hard work as well...

What the people here have done to preserve these precious sci-fi classics is awesome....too bad Lucas doesn't share the same passion to restore the original Originals

like you guys do.

Anyway thank for pointing out my mistake.
