Bare in mind that this is still just a test shot and Adywan may decide to take another route with this, but here's what I've come up with to show a sample of what might be possible in helping with this scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wseA4UHgS8Y

The AT-AT model is one I downloaded from Sci-Fi:3D just to help add a focal point to this shot, the scale of the walkers is probably out, but you get the idea, also it isn't walking, they're having a rest after a busy day of shooting rebels !

You're clearly very good at what you do. Here's hoping you and Adywan can get together and make some magic. Thank you for your willingness to give up your time to help out. You digital wizards amaze me!

I have all the commercial releases (DVD, VHS, LD) as well as Revisited and DM and I was hoping to check this out too but I don't have dual layer burning capability.

Sorry but that excuse has run its course and is very weak....Its really hard to believe you can't afford a $30 burner.

Info Wanted: When they restored Star Wars for the '04 DVDs...

When they restored Star Wars for the '04 DVDs, did they work from the '97 restoration, or did they start from scratch with the original negatives and add the '97 changes in and then build from there?

Janskeet, just so you know there is a general star wars section. This section is for star wars fan edits and preservation efforts.

Oh no, now Adywan ignored me. I hope this doesn't mean I'm off of the Empire Revisited credits. I do think I have contributed a few good ideas to this project and I hope Adywan and the others don't ignore me indefinitly. I don't think I have much to offer for the ESB: R but for the ROTJ: R I think I have a lot of ideas to contribute to so hopefully Adywan will unignore me when that time comes.

Adywan took my spelling errors the wrong way. I was just trying to help, I'm not trying to be annoying or nitpicky.

Damned if I'm not getting that Zigfried vibe again.....

6 part tutorial on building the FM Falcon

It's a Japanese TV show, but modeling is universal, so you can still follow it even if you don't read or speak Japanese.

That was awesome....

....bla bla bla "star wars"

....bla bla star wars professor.....

I love how he trims the parts with his xacto knife cutting away towards his fingers...one slip and "ouch"

This guy is very entertaining.

Hey man, I sent you a PM. ;)

I've been busy. I kinda got caught up in film school, spending hours and hours editing films and doing post sound, I got a new job, and somebody decided to make me an admin over on TFN. So things have been hectic lately. I'm probably not going back to school in the fall, so I've finally got some free time to spend again.

This is going to sound fake but its good to see you're OK. Aside from the X0 project we missed you. It wasn't the same around here.

Wow!  We have our first .. well.. I don't know quite what to say about "yotsuya".  It's quite odd for someone to just pop up into a thread and start advertising other sites and putting down someone's project.. isn't that called "troll spamming?"

Just poping up on a thread? I've been here for quite some time, drawn by my love of Vangelis and Blade Runner. Any comments I have made are in reaction to comments made by others that bear a striking resemblance to what I have to deal with at work. I once was a bit sluggish to say things, but in my current line of work I have come to call people to task for things that they say or post. Just because we are in awe of someone's audio editing talents does not mean I will ingore innapropriate comments.

"Troll Spamming" would be if I had come her for the specific purpose of arguing. I am here for the specific reason of hearing the final creation. I try to be as tactful as I can but I do not appreciate being ignored when I ask a simple why or how question and I will call someone for saying something that comes across as rude. In his reply, Focuspuller stated what he should have said the first time. My job would have been complete but now you seem to want to attack me personally. So be it.

Get over yourself already. No one here gives a shit.

Here is a slight tweak. Just light in lukes eyes makes it more convincing. I don't know how it looks on a brighter moniter but it looks pretty good on my computer. What i did was added slight lens flare in lukes eyes. then cut luke from tweaked image and popped him into the original picture.

Thanks for effort but IMO its just too much...remember, less is more.

Hey Ady. Thanks for the trailer, its great!

But  on a technical note: The aspect ratio information in the video seems to be wrong. Playing the file in mplayer it reports:

Movie-Aspect is 1.78:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect.

Of course this results in a stretched image when playing.

Only adding a "-aspect 2.35:1" manually allows playback of the video in the right ratio.

I dont know if this happens with other media players too (Propably not, they may take their ratio information only from the resolution, wich of course already is 2.35:1), but there is definetly something to fix right here:

======= Video Properties Header =======
Format: 0 VideoStandard: 0
VRefresh: 24 HTotal: 1280 VTotal: 544
FrameAspect: 16:9 Framewidth: 1280 Frameheight: 544
Fields: 1
  == Field 0 description ==
  CompressedBMHeight: 544 CompressedBMWidth: 1280
  ValidBMHeight: 544 ValidBMWidth: 1280
  ValidBMXOffset: 0 ValidBMYOffset: 0
  VideoXOffsetInT: 0 VideoYValidStartLine: 0
=======================================

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but isn't 1280x544 2.35:1? Sure looks that way to me.

It looks like your "mplayer" is even reporting the correct file info....must be a problem with the linux version of mplayer.
