Star Trek: Renegades
Time

So this is happening as a kickstarter thing.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/145553614/star-trek-renegades

Their kickstarter page thingy said:

We, the team who brought you Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, are proud to announce Star Trek: Renegades, a professionally produced pilot intended for presentation to CBS as a possible online series.

This film will be funded by the generous donations of fans from around the world. All monies will go directly to the costs of making this high quality broadcast pilot. It is our hope that CBS finds "Star Trek: Renegades" to be a worthy endeavor and will continue the Star Trek franchise and legacy as an online episodic series (or on their own broadcast or cable network).

Should CBS pass on Star Trek: Renegades, we will explore all avenues to release the film on a strictly non-profit basis. If we are successful, we would like to produce future episodes via donations and release them, also as non-profit, since we have a five year story arc planned.

If you've not seen Star Trek: Of Gods and Men you can view it on their Youtube channel Here.

All in all I'm interested in what they'll do with this story. It's also nice to know that the JJ Abrams movie didn't destroy the potential for the regular timeline to have more story.

My physical feeling is complete and utter suck. I'll be taking some heart medication soon to help me get through it, which I'm certain I will, but in the meantime it's threatening to bring down my emotional feelings... Fuck that! I'm fighting that shit by watching some videos I enjoy like Chuck or the Beijing Olympic opening ceremony. Something to avoid the crap of feeling down. Fuck you sadness! Get the fuck away!

It's an interesting guess, but it's not a crash test dummy.

Yeah I figured that I was likely wrong. It's just that the "He felt no pain and did not weep His job to tumble, bound and fall" kind of made me think of that.

In response to yours, I'm going to guess the mouth or voice.

And before Frink gives you a hard time, I suspect you meant "bored" ;)

Nope, nope, and nope.

A cyclops stares from pale white face
Earrings seven his visage grace
Atop his head are five tattoos
Ebon black his pair of shoes
On his pale back six scars dug deep
He felt no pain and did not weep
His job to tumble, bound and fall
But he's no fool--no not at all

For some reason this makes me think of a crash test dummy.... That's probably not it though. Anyways I thought up this one.

For years I've been the key to easy communication of ideas
Lately users have become board with my use
Slowly I become replaced by the object that gives no feeling such as I

I feel sorry for you guys. I've had lucid dreams where I take off into space and I treat the dream world like my own little holodeck. Flying, space ship exploration, super powers, everything! If I want to be with someone I just imagine them up and boom they're there. Granted my lucid dreaming doesn't happen as often as I would like but when it does it gets into all sorts of creative stuff.

The Clone Wars: Season V

And hell, at least we can still watch the original Star Wars.  Sure, it might not be in HD, but it's a lot better than the countless television shows that only live on today in 3rd generation television recordings ripped from VHS tapes.  For years, there was no way for me to get Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. They only just recently started releasing those,

So the shear fact that you can still watch Star Wars in decent quality is, while not optimal, is still good that it will be allowed to live on for you, with or without the validation of other "purists."

Actually Power Rangers has gotten a better release than Star Wars OOT. When Saban bought the series back they got into negotiations with Time Life to release the show on DVD. They did. In one purchase you can get MMPR - Lost Galaxy series episodes. Included in the set are booklets, an action figure(these may have been limited edition), newly shot interviews, the Zeo serial promos leading up to Power Rangers Zeo amongst many more extras. So you can buy each MMPR episode in DVD quality in the original form now if you want.

Also prior to this when Disney owned the series there were season sets that were sold in Germany in 2007 I think. They only had a single episode that wasn't the original cut due to them needing to get the copy from the Disney archives. As for image quality well take a look at the following screen caps from the 2007 set vs the Star Wars Gout Power Rangers Battle scene screen cap so a little bit of blur and another screencap. Some Gout images in this thread. So it's not merely recently that Power Rangers has been released in higher quality than Star Wars OOT.

I presume that the Star Wars Gout release may have something over the Power Rangers release though... They have subtitles accessible via the DVD menu screens. On the Power Rangers non-Germany sets they depend on your tv having the closed captioning option to activate them. So,... yeah um Star Wars has the subtitles!

To further the comparison Saban actually bought the series back at the same time that Disney was altering the original episodes to such an extent of adding animations and deleting scenes. So in essence Saban has saved the original versions from destruction putting up $100 million of his own money to do so. Plus putting $400 million more into building up a company that he can use to distribute the show.

Yet Lucas still refuses to restore the originals...

Yeah, just try and prove you are honest.

Okay everyone! We need a time traveling lie detector in here stat!

...As an aside I'd just like to point out the irony of a device that is said to detect lies through stress indicators. That then forces you to stay absolutely still with various wires around your person for approx. an hour. And that only a Sith deals with absolutes http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/9097/yhmin.gif.
