NOT AVAILABLE, DO NOT MESSAGE ME.
is there? thanks 😃
Perhaps that is what I saw because I live in the UK.
Whatever the case, what I have done has made the frame size and aspect consistent, so it can be cropped in mediaplayer automatically with no real difficulty.
That was the biggest issue with the open matte, the sfx shots just didn’t match the non sfx shots at all and there were black bars at the side of all the non sfx shots.
it might have made more sense for the original encoder of that file to add black bars on the top and bottom of the sfx shots and render out at a larger than 1080p file… but oh well.
DO NOT MESSAGE ME REQUESTING THIS, IT IS NOT AVAILABLE.

Nice of you to offer, but I started this as a personal project for free, which it will always be. So no money offers are necessary. However I am always open to tips and ideas on how to improve things. As for the actual episodes, I will PM you with the links soon.
Thank you so much 😃
I’m not sure if any tips I might have will be helpful, but one thing I was thinking while looking through the thread, was a possible way to train a neural network. if you were to feed it the new HD thing they released recently on amazon… the space battle, I can’t recall exactly what it was… and if you feed it the SD version, then the neural net might be able to learn how to do some good upscale work based on that?
You guys have all probably already thought of that though or even using that very process and I just don’t understand it well enough XD
edit: I taught myself something and realised you are using the AI upscaling thing I was thinking of.
I was wondering though… if my other thought was at all useful … using the hd versions of TNG alongside the SD versions of that, to help teach the AI how to upscale star trek images better? again, I’m probably just repeating what has already been said.
Hi, I really love what you’re doing. I’d love a hd version of both these star trek series.
I’d like to contribute but I don’t have a decent enough computer. I only have a i5 gtx960 and a tiny SSD for gaming.
I have contributed financially to some other projects though and would be happy to add something into the pot if needed. I’d also be happy to help out in some other ways if I am able 😃
That’s excellent news!
I hope it all goes well 😃
Is this regarded to the original theatrical colour?
it looks fantastic!
going to have a look for it tonight. Thanks!
yeah that’s fine, I was just a bit scared that i might have to keep on top of this forever. XD
I suppose I’m not going to have hordes chasing after me for my little colour grade ^_^
I’ve got this uploaded now, if anyone would like to view this, can you tell me an easy way to put the link online somewhere do I don’t have to give it out with private messages?
This looks amazing! Have you considered trying Dr. Dre’s color match? I’m using it on a fan reconstruction, and it replicates it perfectly.
Thank you 😃
Hmm, I have not heard of that one. I have been using resolve for a while. Not very good at it to be honest, took me a while to figure out many features, I’m a game designer, not a video editor XD.
Dr dres colour match. I’ll definitely have a look for it, and see what I can do with it!
thanks.
Edit:
Thats a really cool tool! I think for it to be any use though, I’d have to do each scene. I think they are all graded differently, and is why I could only get a close fit rather than perfection. I don’t have the time to do scene by scene, even though I would really love to. Perhaps a project for the future.
please do not message me, this project is no longer supported.
I spent today regrading the bluray release of Jurassic Park to more closely match the original release.
I don’t have a massive amount of time for these kinds of things, so it’s a blanket adjustment across the entire movie. some scenes don’t match as closely as they could, but I went through the whole movie very carefully, adjusting as i went, and settled for a very good compromise.
please take a look at the screenshots.
first is bluray, second is 35mm scan, third is my regrade.
