If you check the citation on Wookieepedia, it credits the game Empire At War, but I'm positive its origin is the older game X-Wing. Either way it's EU.

Do you realize how little he was involved in the prequels? I think his role in AOTC & ROTS (maybe TPM too?) was to sit in the can for one scene. One scene only.

Lighting up colors? No definitely not. They're all subtle grey, same basic color as everything else, and they blend perfectly into the background right underneath the ads that show up in the area of the screen I always ignore.

Boba follows long enough to figure out their course, and can easily predict when they'll arrive. The Empire, thus, arrives just before the Falcon.

Ion cannons were used on certain ships in the Roque Squadron games. They could momentarily disable certain things like laser cannons. in retrospect, they were actually pretty crappy weapons because it was easier to just hit whatever with actual lasers and freakin blow it up.
Same with the X-Wing games. Useful when you wanted to capture and/or board an enemy vessel.
