Another screening was held last weekend, at a private residence. A few screenshots and videos were taken.

Not too many, but it was the DCP version. The currently cleaned version that is 3.1 is still being worked on.

About 10 people saw it, and everyone enjoyed it.

Although its too early to start work officially on this. A workprint using parts from 3 different prints was used for preview purposes.

A test of basic cleanup passes will be done on the various parts. This will be for internal use of the team.

This is just to gauge what needs to be done when its time to start work on the project. The results will be mentioned.

Progress on the workprint continues, and an early version with 4 of the completed Reels, and two partially completed reels should be done in a week or two.

Reel 3 is nearing completion, has had stabilization, cropping, and flicker removal done. Also, the replacement shots are finished.

It will be the first Reel for getting color correction done.

Reel 1 will have the replacement shots worked on, and hopefully get completed in a few weeks.

The final part of the Trilogy was screened last night. While it was a little rough in places, overall it looked great. Vibrant colors and great sound helped. There are many video previews of it. More details will be posted shortly.

There were many other scenes with noise, dirt, and scratches, Even the explosions had many areas to clean. Reel 6 was the most difficult and time consuming one to clean up, even without replacement shots.

There have been many other sample clips posted, check on those also.

Thanks for all the comments. These samples do not include replacement shots.

- At the end of the reel 4 clip, C3P0 does shift color, and that will be replaced.

- The tint and fading will be adjusted with color correction.

- All clips will have flicker reduction, stabilization and cropping applied.

Currently, we only have time to do clean up on the Eastman print. There will be a slight color correction on the later reels. 

The main focus is on Star Wars. When we are ready to start on Empire, you will see samples then. Probably later this year or early next year.

This can serve as a basis for anyone wiling to do further work on them. In the meantime it is a step up to make the Grindhouse much easier to watch.
