I think the loophole is that they aren't being paid to be at the Olympics.

I had a discussion about this today, actually. We can't just say that "if you get paid to play, you can't go to the Olympics," because that would pretty much eliminate every hockey player down to the beer leagues. I mean, even the minor league players are making money playing hockey. Not as much as the NHL, but they're still making money. I mean, if we take that approach, no more AHL players, CHL, WHL, Russian Superleague, Swedish Hockey League, all the European leagues. Even the junior players are getting paid to play hockey. The Olympics would just be like an international rec league. Perhaps if we just excluded the Major leagues from the competition.

Ok, this is the last time I will respond to you, Adam, whether you're here tomorrow or not.

Your posts of late have gone beyond "suggestive," beyond "clean," and way beyond tasteful. The comments you made to HLF were rude, insulting, and downright degrading to her and to all women. They went from asinine to assault. If you were to say those things to her outside of this forum, you could easily be charged with sexual harrassment. I don't care if it was "just a joke," and neither would the courts. One or two posts might have been a joke, but this carried on for days, Adam. Weeks, even. If you JUST realised that it was really hurting her, you must be pretty damned thick, because you were absolutely out of line. End of story.

And now for something completely different, this is post #800. Yay for me.

It beats watching men's olympic hockey, because men's hockey is all just NHLers anyway. I always see the Olympics as the pinnacle of amateur sport. Emphasis on AMATEUR! I don't like seeing the NHL playing at the Olympics. Same as men's basketball in the summer.
