This is really difficult.

I'm going to have to go with Luke, though, for three reasons.

One: When I was a kid, I always wanted to be Luke. (who didn't?)

Two: His character wasn't lessened any by the prequels. Yoda, on the other hand, went from cool sage to weird midget with a speech impediment.

Three: Two words......C'mon! C'mon!

No, Jag. I'm referring to Star Trek: Enterprise. It was a show. Not a very good one, mind you, but it was the Star Trek prequel, and ran for four seasons from 2002 to 2005. I'm not stupid.

Not quite "every other country"....we Canadians got the same release as you in the States. We almost always do. The only difference is that now all our DVD covers must be in English and French.

Really? I've never found Godiva chocolates to be all that special. I'd rather Ganong (but maybe that's the Canadian content kicking in) or Chocolates by Bernard Callebaut (local)

YIYF, you don't need to get packages from home. Just eat Canadian chocolate! It's better than its American counterpart (as most Canadian sweets are), and cheaper, too. And it's really close (especially to North Dakota)

Jag, you can "profoundly dislike" murder all you want, but you asked if violence can ever be justifiable, and people have said "If it's in self-defence, yes, it is justifiable." You've turned around and said, "Well, I'm not counting self-defence because then primal instincts take over." I don't care what your opinion is. You're entitled to it. But don't put limits on the discussion. If you keep limiting it, we might end up agreeing with you, but only because we can't talk about anything else.

Okay, I skimmed your story. Touching, but a heart-wrenching story isn't going to change my mind. At war, people die. You want justification? The father died because he was killing people, and if whoever shot him hadn't, he might have been killed too. In fact, he probably was killed. Violent people die unnatural deaths.

Can violence and murder be justified? Yes. Can war be justified? Yes. Why am I still discussing this? Why am I letting you goad me with each post?

They're a Canadian candy. That's probably why you've never heard of them. They're pink cinnamon candies, shaped like a log, that have (often fake) chocolate in the middle.
