In my dream, a small Borg scout ship was attacking a beachside town. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman all showed up to defeat it, but they didn’t know what to do. They didn’t want to kill them, but they also didn’t want to get assimilated. Someone had the idea of introducing the Borg to Philip K. Dick, so they did that. The Borg suddenly became so pleased that they gave Superman the trunks he’s been missing since 2011.
Yeah, the SE is different in that there is no indication on the packaging that the “Original Trilogy” isn’t original. For those unfamiliar with Bond, expecting the Bond collection to include the weird Casino Royales and Never Say Never Again is about the equivalent of expecting the Star Wars saga collection to include the Holiday Special, the Ewok movies, and the weird Clone Wars movie. Seeing as how the films are listed and the number of them included is spelled out on the packaging and description, this lawsuit is frivolous.
Given that those were still Lucasfilm-approved products (I think), I think it be more analogous to want a Star Wars set including Spaceballs and those Family Guy specials I see in discount bins.
Weird that endor feels fake when it’s a real forest.
The same forest where ET was shot.
Someone shot E.T.‽
False alarm. They were planning on shooting him, but somehow their guns were replaced with walkie-talkies.
These Snoke guards look kinda goofy…
…I love it.

This is a weird one for me. I admittedly haven’t listened to very much of his music, but I know enough songs to know he was good. Anyway, his old hometown is pretty close to mine. I feel his loss in more of a sentimental, geographic sense. It’s if I’ve lost a neighbor who I didn’t visit enough.
Well, at least that makes sense in my head, if nowhere else.
I’ve been binge watching the Goosebumps show (brilliance), and I can name at least one thing bad about the nineties:

Actually, I don’t mind his haircut.
I wasn’t referring to that, I was just making my obligatory Hayden Joke™, since this is a Star Wars site.
This whole thread brings to my mind the part in Dune where the Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam forces Paul Atreides to endure the pain box test to gauge whether he is human or an animal.

Maybe it’s because I didn’t watch it regularly as a kid – maybe it’s just because I’m able to now recognize just how bad a writer R. L. Stine is – but I just find Goosebumps absolutely cringeworthy. I watched a few episodes months ago; it was hard to sit through them.
I remember the books still being pretty popular in my schools throughout the mid-late 2000s. I finally picked one up in fourth or fifth grade, and I couldn’t stand it.
I did enjoy reruns of the TV show. I had no idea it was actually trying to be scary, it was funny to me. Haven’t watched it in years, now.
Might be an odd one, but I watched The Man From UNCLE (2015) with the color settings on my TV set all the way down to black and white, and thought the movie was much better for it. I would love a proper b/w version.

After taking a few weekends off for a 1960s Batman TV show marathon and 1966 film to honor Adam West after his passing, my Summer of Rogue is now back on. As of Sunday, it can now buy alcohol legally. 😉
You’ve been watching Rogue One since 1996?!
I also really love suspiciouscoffee.
I’ve got it: Rey was conceived by the Force, like Anakin, but this time there was no mother.
How did you find my fanfiction?
It’s hard to miss with this cover image.
That’s the wrong picture, but I can see why you’d get confused. Clearly my impeccable graphic design skills are on professional poster making level:

But what you really want is a throwaway line where it doesn’t matter. Which means the whole “who are Rey’s parents?” plot might end up being “Luke and a random lady” for 95% of the audience.
What I really want is “not Luke,” but if Luke is the father, who else would be the mother other than a random lady? Unless there’s a woman on the island we don’t know about who’s been living with Luke all these years.

People seem to think Mara Jade has some kind of secret following among the common folk that won’t require any kind of explanation about who she is, just adding her will make an instant hit. Meanwhile in the Doctor Who thread, people were telling stories about educating people who Spock is, who actually has a cultural impact.
I’m fully aware most people have no idea who she is, but adding her in wouldn’t require that much explanation, especially if she’s missing/dead by the ST days and it doesn’t matter who she is.

One or two effects are more 80’s than 70’s video technology, but I won’t nitpick too much. 😉
Maybe they just had better video tech in space in the 70s than we did on Earth.
That video is better than all of Marvel’s post-credit sequences.
