Has anyone noticed the iconic shot of the Man in the Moon seen in Georges Méliès’ Trip to the Moon is slightly different than the popular image? If so, why is it different? (The image seen in my avatar is the actual one seen in the film)
The actual shot is kind of gory. Stuff is running out of the Moon’s pierced eyeball! I don’t think that’s cheese…

Some movies never even had official scores. I know The Passion of Joan of Arc didn’t, and the oldest score on the Criterion disc was written in the 90s I think.

Well, silent films didn’t have the music on the original reels, and music was performed live, and while theaters sometimes got an “official” score sent to them, they weren’t required to play it. So, really, silent movies can have any music anyone wants to give them.

Kubrick. 4/10
After he grew the beard, that is. He was at least a 6 before it.
Kubrick’s amateurish debut. It’s actually inspiring that he made this, because a rough start didn’t stop him from becoming, well, Kubrick. 4/10
I expected a bed with a giant mouth that ate its victims. I got a bed that secreted acid that made chewing noises for some reason. 3/10
Easily the best and most exciting film of the franchise. 8/10

Some friends were pirating it watching it and I sat with them for a while. Got a few chuckles out of me, but I still find Deadpool (in this film and outside of it and in general) to be annoying. 5/10
Watched in theater class. Interesting, but fairly standard and flat as many cheap documentaries are. 6/10
