Holy crap, I’m gone for less than a day and Duracell gets banned? Yikes. Hope he gets to come back.

One of my gifts today was the second trade volume of the original Marvel comics, and included is a story from the UK weekly series that was never printed in the US. It takes place immediately after the original movie, and shows Leia giving Chewie his medal later in the ceremony. I’m happy.

RETURN OF THE JEDIT: He’s 69 now, so he’d be 49 in 1997. If we follow real world time in this loose adaptation of HTTE, it’s 20 years since SW, making him a Grand Admiral at about 29 years old. So, pretty young.

Hi everyone. I write sometimes. Instead of clogging the whole scriptwriting section with threads for various non-script stories, I’ll just post here whenever I write one. Feel free to comment/critique/etc. I crave attention I value responses. Just be constructive, please. Don’t just tell me “it sucks” because I’m fully aware already.

Scriptwriting! That place needs more activity.

Well, to scriptwriting I go.

It was on Netflix so I put it on while browsing Christmassy content. I saw a chalkboard reading “Minstrel number” and decided to google it, young one that I am, and it painted the scene much differently. They avoid doing actual blackface makeup, but they wear black suits for the only time in the movie, and make reference to “those colorful folks.” Little things I probably wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.

White Christmas (1954) - Did not finish. Got a little more than halfway through, but then decided to google “minstrel show” because I didn’t know what it was and… conveniently remembered something I had to go do right then immediately.

I just wrote a draft of a short story. If I were to post it, should I post it here in off topic, or in the script writing section even though it’s not a script?

I checked when I was in a Hallmark store recently and, alas, no sound. I did get a Picard/Data ornament though, which has an odd selection of lines chosen for it. It ranges from “Let’s make sure history never forgets the name Enterprise” to a clip where the captain tells Data that he’d be happy to give him any advice he had on understanding women and “When I have some, I’ll let you know.”

EDIT: It made for a nice decoration for my town’s Christmas parade where I was told “the goofier the Christmas hat, the better.”

I wish the Aliens one had a sound clip of “get your hands off her you bitch!” 😛

So when you’re banned, you’re automatically logged out immediately even if you’re, for example, in the process of writing a farewell post, or does it just not let you back in if you try to navigate elsewhere, or what?
