Loved the film. The narration wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be but it definitely hurt the movie. The tacked-on happy ending was horrible though, and I can’t wait to see a version of the film without it.
Update: There is narration so I assume it’s theatrical.
Found it on HBO. Not sure what version it is yet. Guess I’ll find out.
Watched this movie when I was a kid and I turned out fine. I don’t think that you need to remove anything to make it “appropriate” for children. In fact, as a kid, this one was my favorite of the three (a title that now belongs to Raiders).
I think that using actual space footage is actually a pretty cool idea. I’m all for it.

Yeah, I have a bad feeling that once the ST concludes everything will go downhill. I liked TFA enough to be fairly confident in the rest of the ST but after that I am terrified. Especially since Iger said that the movies will continue “forever”.

Well, forgive me for being a noob or whatever but my “methods” amounted to this; a relative of mine gave me a device to convert home videos to dvds and that worked fine. I tried it on my Star Wars tapes and the copy protection blocked me from being able to convert it.
If the world was flat, there would be no reason for anyone to cover that up. Just like if the moon landing was faked, NASA would probably have faked another great feat. They wouldn’t have just done one and stopped, they would have faked a Mars landing or something by now.
Netflix doesn’t have it at all.
I have never seen Blade Runner. Mainly because I didn’t know wiich of it’s vast numbers of versions to watch. I didn’t want to buy all of them because I’d end up only watching the same one every time after.

Plot holes are a staple of the franchise. I always hate using the “nostalgia clouds peoples’ memory” argument, but I don’t think it is fair to pick apart Skyfall over mostly inconsequential plot discrepancies while accepting to problems with all the other films in the franchise. Skyfall has plenty of problems, but I find it puzzling to see fans of the franchise picking apart the most pointless problems in Skyfall while having no problem with the pre-Craig films.

I really enjoyed Skyfall. Is it the greatest Bond movie like some claim? No. Nor is it the worst as others claim. It has plot holes you can drive a train through but I love the characters and the action. Plus, it’s a great film to just look at. Really, it looks fantastic.
I would like to capture my '95 Faces tapes to preserve on a DVD but I don’t know how to do that. I’ve tried various methods but none of them could get past the copy protection. Anyone know how this can be done?
How did you capture the VHS on to the DVD? I tried to do that for a SW project a while back and it never worked.

It hasn’t been confirmed how the Knights of Ren was created so it’s pretty premature to say Ben named it after himself.
Yeah, I had assumed he got the name from the Knights and just rose through their ranks after destroying the entire new Jedi Order.

I have the same issue with Raiders of the Lost Ark
Now that I ALWAYS call Raiders of the Lost Ark. Anyone can tell by the logo that it’s got something to do with Indiana Jones!
I always call all of them by their title sans Indiana Jones at the beginning. Saying “Indiana Jones And The ________” is pointless. There’s no reason to double the length of a movie’s title just to clarify who the protagonist is.

Many people have complained about it being SW/ANH all over again. Looking back, I suppose they’re right about that. However, it’s just so much fun and the characters are so great that I don’t care. As I watched the film, I wasn’t thinking about the similarities and I didn’t even notice them at all at first.
Except Starkiller and Maz’s place, which did take me out of the movie a bit.
If you boil it down to it’s smallest of points then sure I guess but when you analyze the film you see just how different they are. Also it feels different which is just as important.
