Lmao, you thought they were actually getting married‽ All the hype, only to be unceremoniously spoiled by DC in a statement to the NY Times earlier this week before the issue even came out. They really shot themselves in the foot. I haven’t even been reading Batman, but I was planning to pick up this issue at least. But no.

His Man of Steel miniseries is much better than that story would have you believe. However, some choices were made in that mini that I’m afraid you would hate, even if I don’t mind them myself, so perhaps it’s best you don’t pick it up, or at least wait for the trade.

EDIT: Not that that’s really Bendis’ fault, as Jurgens actually wrote that reveal in Action 980-something and spent a few issues with him before making him go away, but he returns in the new mini.

For some reason, a clandestine group of Hollywood higher-ups decided that certain movies—chosen arbitrarily—no longer existed. All copies were inexplicably purged from home collections in the middle of the night. I spent a night in a small hotel, and happened to have some of the movies that were banned with me, thus not at home to be destroyed. It was entirely coincidental, as I didn’t know about the purge.
I got a text from someone saying his house was on fire and he needed help, but I kept either passing out or being attacked and knocked out by my brother every time I would try to leave and help him. Eventually I made it to his place, but everything was fine by then.
I had to go back to the high school for some event, and while there, I started catching on to the grand movie conspiracy, because I noticed people disappearing or being murdered just for mentioning the movies that were banned. I went home and saw a disc explode. I figured pretty soon that I was going to die, but when someone arrived to kill me, I killed him first. Then I realized that society was meaningless, and began roaming the streets naked.
Then, it all went crazy.

Yes. I thought it was funny, and kind of disturbing, that a cop would be endorsed by such a person. I’m calling Mike the Cop an apologist for police brutality and excessive force. 'Cause that’s what motherfucker is, dude!

He thinks the man is an apologist for brutality, because “Mike the Cop” seems to defend brutality (I didn’t watch the videos, I won’t comment any opinions on the matter). Sounds reasonable to me. The only part that makes it seem inflammatory or otherwise “unreasonable” is the “motherfucker” sentence.

I liked the 2004(?) series as a kid. I liked even more the spin-off where they were in the future. Now, I remember very little of either (strangely, though, I remember one specific scene about a Hot Dog from the latter).
