What’s with Vader using the Force to take a cup? Why do I suddenly picture him sitting and drinking some damn fine cup of coffee? 😄

That cup was me. It’s a shame I was removed from the final cut.

Now that I think about it, the only thing (or at least, the first thing) I’d really want to change (if I had the software, time, or know-how to do such things) is the colors. Teal and orange was prominent in many scenes (as with most modern movies), which was especially noticeable upon second viewing. Unless my eyes are being weird and I’m seeing things that aren’t there (which has happened before).

Your eyes might be weird. Colors are pretty natural throughout. Didn’t notice an orange shift anywhere, though the First Order interiors often had a teal look due to the lighting. If you want you could pretty easily remove that, but I’m not sure why. There’s nothing inherently wrong with teal and orange.

I swear the stars behind the crawl looked blue. The rest of the stars looked fine to me, but the first stars just looked blue to me.

It still isn’t inherently bad, in fact I think it looks pretty good. I’d just want it to better fit the OT. It really is, for the most part, the First Order interiors, like you said. This is about what I had in mind (taken from a youtube video I found):

Alright Wook, I think I’ve fixed it. It seems to take a while to upload for me so it should be fine soon.

As for your restoration, FanFiltration, no I have not. I’ve never been able to download any edits or restorations to watch because my computer sucks too much to download anything really. As soon as I have a good one, I might check it out after I get Harmy’s Trilogy (assuming an official release isn’t out by then).

Eh. Having been born in the late 90s and growing up with both Trilogies, I don’t feel like the whole ‘product of the generation’ thing is entirely accurate.

Key word is “can” have an influence, not “does” have an influence.

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I actually agree with what you said. In fact, most people I talk to around my age think Jurassic World CG looks good.

Then again, most people I talk to around my age defend the PT to some degree, even if they don’t like them much. Most of them think they’re mediocre but watchable.

In fact, there’s an old former friend of mine that loves them purely out of nostalgia and knows that they’re bad movies.

Maybe I’m just a hipster.

I’ve heard that the color timing on the blu rays of the movies (I-VI) is heavily altered from the original versions but I can’t find many examples of this. When I was watching them all some time after I got the set for Christmas, I noticed a lot of DNR on VI and the colors looked odd but I haven’t seen any other version so I have nothing to compare it to (except one film cell I have on my wall).

The Force Awakens: Official Review Thread - ** SPOILERS **
Time

Only time it pulled me out of the film was the very end with the spinny helicopter shot. However, upon second viewing it wasn’t as bad. The first time I went, I saw it in 3D (because it was an hour earlier than the standard 2D premiere) and it looked horrible. In the second viewing, it wasn’t nearly as bad. Maybe it’s just me though.
