I’m fine with the swearing, but the constant tangents on killing and enslaving women gets on my nerves. Every now and then I laugh at one but when every scene in a movie warrants a “this scene is a car crash… like the one I killed my wife in” line, I get annoyed.
As much as I really like TFA, I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t totally rip it to shreds at times (like Starkiller). I also wish he’d do the TOS Trek movies, almost all of them could use a good Plinketting.

Ah yes, it is time once again to laugh when he makes fun of actual movie mistakes and (pizza) roll my eyes at gratuitous “I killed my ex-wife” jokes.
Samuel didn’t even do anything in the movie, so I’d hardly call it good acting. He sat around for a while, he said some silly dialogue, and he fell out of a window.

The Rebellion was just a rebellion, not even remotely affiliated with any government, which was clearly established. In TFA, they mention that there is a relationship between the Republic and the Resistance, but don’t establish what that relationship is.
I enjoyed TFA, don’t get me wrong. I rate it as the 3rd best in the saga (just barely over ROTJ, which may change in the future). I just didn’t really grasp the relationship between the Republic and the Resistance. Now that I have EU (nuEU) explanation, I do understand it, but upon first viewing of the film, not knowing anything, I didn’t know how the Resistance existed. “Is it the Republic fleet under a different name? Is it funded from someone embezzling from the Republic?” and other ideas crossed my mind.
TFA left me grasping at straws as to how the Resistance existed and it could have easily been cleared up with just one scene (that is rumored to exist and was left on the cutting room floor). I don’t see why it couldn’t have just been the Republic Army that would become a Resistance after the Republic’s destruction.
Well that’s great and all, but I don’t want to have to read an EU book to understand a movie. Books are great to add to movies, but not to do part of the movie’s job in explaining what’s going on.
Okay, so I’m not the only one that really likes TFA’s soundtrack, that’s good. It has more memorable tracks (Rey’s Theme and March of the Resistance) that the PT, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve listened to those, and the only track I remember from any of them is Duel of the Fates. I’ll give them all another listen soon and then make a ranking.

At least SwagBoi had the decency to put one of the OT films over it.
ROTS is my favorite of the six movies (I have not yet seen TFA, I am waiting for the Blu-ray).
Why?
Deleted scenes and bonus content only come with the Target one? Good thing I pre ordered it from them since I had a gift card.
The only Hobbit movie I actually really dislike is BOTFA. The other two, while greatly inferior to the LOTR movies, are enjoyable at times. I have big problems with all of them but they aren’t horrible, and certainly nowhere near as bad as the PT.
Maybe some day there will be a comic or a novel that explains all of Snoke’s backstory, but I honestly don’t think they’ll even go into his past all that much in the movies. Perhaps he’ll be confirmed Plagueis in said DisnEU material, but I just don’t see it happening in the movies, even if only for the reason that no casual viewer would know or care who Plagueis is.
I don’t think Johnson, Kasdan, Abrams and co. even remember or care about a character who only exists because of a single mention in the PT.
And with that, I’m pretty much sold.

Wait for a few weeks until you can legally obtain TFA

You could do the waiting before the full marathon even begins and watch them in order that way, but seriously, don’t pirate it.
Also, you can slap the PT in there somewhere if you like those or any of the fanedits.
Yeah I’ll give you that. Third act is pretty meh while the Dark Aster is falling and all that. But Groot’s death was sad and I like everything after the ship hits the ground. I’d probably give it B out of 7 Good Star Balls.
