Haha speaking of anti-TFA kids, shortly after TFA was released, one of them came up to me ranting about how it was a rip off of SW/ANH and about how much he hated the movie.
The next day he was showing off his Kylo Ren socks.

Ric Olie has ascended beyond the lowly rank of “movie character”, Ric Olie is a God. Ipso facto, he doesn’t count. All Hail Lord Olie!
Killing off Dooku right at the start of the film was a mistake since he’s probably one of the most interesting villains in star wars. His role as a double agent outwardly working against the sith but secretly using the separatists as scapegoats is criminally underutilized. Grievous is no substitute, and is almost as silly as his new cartoon droid minions.
Interesting? Seperatists scapegoats? What?
Maybe it’s just been at least a decade since I watched a PT movie all the way, but I wouldn’t call any PT character interssting.
I don’t much care for most big summer event comics, but DC’s Rebirth event this year is returning Action Comics (and some others I think) to the original numbering. Which is pretty satisfying.
I also love how they’re keeping the post-Crisis Supes of the recent Lois and Clark mini-series, rather than tossing them after that run.
I would like to see Lucas’ story just out of morbid curiosity. Something akin to the comic a few years ago based on the rough drafts for The Star Wars. Definitely not a movie, though. That time has long passed.
I just realized that if I cut Doomsday out from the entire movie, I also would have to cut out Wonder Woman being awesome towards the end.

Sometimes I’ll hear a song and think “I remember listening to that when I was little!” But then I learn that the song is too recent for that to be possible or is too obscure for it to have been likely.

FILMS
II - What else can I say that hasn’t been said?
VI - Wonderful swan song, and actually quite good on its own.
I - Underrated, but maybe I’m biased bc it introduced me to Trek
III - Could’ve been really good, a few things held it back.
ST09 - Honestly, it’s probably better than at least two of the four above it, I just can’t bring myself to rate it above them.
FC - At times it seems to dour
IV - Funny the first time, not very re-watchable
GEN - It’s half good sometimes, but it’s pretty sloppy.
V - Out-of-body experience in bad, beating out the last two because at least it is some kind of experience
NEM - dream rape and dune buggies were just what Star Trek needed!
INS - Nothing about this movie works.
UPDATED Since I watched Trek09 a few nights ago.
TPM has a good, fun tone, bad everything else.
ROTS has a somewhat operatic feel, bad everything else.
There is absolutely nothing good about AOTC (except the fact the Christopher Lee was in it, even if he didn’t do anything).

Well after watching 09 last night, I rewatched the trailer for Beyond and read up on some of the interviews about the movie and how much nearly everyone involved hates the trailer.
I’m finally starting to have some hope for this movie.
That’s comforting. I guess I have to watch Into Darkness sometime between now and Beyond’s release. Sigh…
Yeah I watched that scene too (someone posted it on Instagram) and it looked really rough.
Star Trek (2009)
After relentlessly trashing the idea of a Star Trek reboot for years, I finally caved and decided to give it a shot.
I actually quite enjoyed it. A-
J.J. Abrams seems to have pleased both old and new Trekkies with his 2009 one. The older ones hated Into Darkness but the new ones still liked it. Beyond looks like it’s going to move the entire fanbase back to square one, although I’m only judging by the trailer.
I kept reading articles saying Beyond was going to “return the franchise to its roots” and I got excited. Then I saw the trailer…
Agreed. Of the 3 it was my least favorite until I rewatched them a couple months ago.
I know, but I thought it would fit since it was based on a 90s VHS box.
